They set the their house on fire to get a bigger house from the council and ended up killing six of their children?
poor kids…..sad
Lola a couple of people on twitter had this theory today. I can’t imagine that such a stupidly simple scheme could go so wrong. If that was what they wanted to do surely they could have planned so the children were not at risk. I just can’t.
If anyone viewed the cover of the Sun newspaper (30th May), Asst Chief Cons Steve Cotterill can be seen intensely ‘studying’ the Body Language of the accused squeezing ‘tears’ in a show for the media. No, I don’t agree with “set their house on fire to get a bigger house from the council” – albeit yes ‘set-up’ for Insurance/larger house/public pity/disputes with x-partners/jealousy. This was a SCAM which unfortunately went wrong as Mick Philpott was not in the house, but was ‘in his caravan’ (his story) – then the HERO bit as Philpott tried to rescue the children. Perhaps he did try & save the children but only after realizing the ‘scam’ went belly-up. Of course there were more people involved, but with the alertness of Con Steve Cotterill & his ‘not giving up’ this case will throw up some amazing news as to the real reason/s as to why 2 parents would stoop so low in order to source brick & mortar, or ‘blood’ money from a payout from an Insurance Co.
I salute you Mr Cotterill, because you have a knowledge where some Dectectives have yet to learn.
Least we forget, was money owed & ‘loan shark’s’ involved? Let’s hope the children can still have a decent funeral and Rest In Peace.
I’m 42 years old. When I think I’ve heard and seen it all, fools like this come along to take away the last bit of innocence in me that I never knew I had remaining. But you can really have a bag a pickney and be getting a bag of government money for you and yours and can’t satisfy? I’m sure that these fools love their dead kids, but like many, licky licky, a sense of entitlement and too much time concentrating on acquisition and not fellow man contaminated their souls. I’m sure that they will have a lot of time to reflect on that when dem reach a wukhouse….. R.I.P, poor children.
