FILM SYNOPSIS:
Hot shot Premiership footballer Jerome seems to have it all – a luxury flat, a fast car, any girl he wants, and a booming career. A vast contrast to the council estate life he left behind.
Following a run-in with his old estate crew, his world is turned upside down as he gets caught up in the gangland ways his friends still pursue, and before long finds himself being extorted by the dealers, crooks and dropouts he used to hang around with. Adding to this is his younger brother Arron, who finds himself seduced by this attractive yet dangerous lifestyle.
With no easy way out, Jerome must make some impossible decisions that will have an irreversible impact on his life and career forever.
Payback Season is an urban thriller starring Adam Deacon (Kidulthood, Adulthood, Shank, Anuvahood), Nichola Burley (StreetDance 3D, Donkey Punch) and David Ajala (Adulthood, The Dark Knight).
I said this before and I will say it again…
So another UK “URBAN” film featuring a council estate, violence, menacing young black men, UK / Jamaican street slang, some dodgy acting in parts and Adam Deacon. Great. It should be a box office smash.
This time however there is a football theme running through the film and it also stars a Sun newspaper Page 3 girl .
Payback Season is directed and written by music producer Danny Donnelly and will be released in cinemas nationwide on March 9th.
Who plans on rushing out to see this film when it’s released?
If i live in your country i wouldn’t just on GP……
when uk “urban” brings out a different genre of film, please let me know
Usual low budget UK urban film nonsense. Adam always ends up playing the same role. The only thing that looks different this time is he’s playing a footballer but other than that it looks like he’s playing the same old council estate slang talking boy. This film should go straight to DVD
When I see films like this it annoys me more and more when I know there are black guys out there with good ideas but can’t get the funding or they’re making the films but get no exposure. KMT
Here’s another UK film they should be backing instead of this urban crap
lol at “Sir Geoff Hurst MBE” getting involved with this nonsense! I actually think he’s acting as a character and not playing himself
When I saw the trailer I was thinking is that Geoff Hurst, but thought nah can’t be LMAO
hmmmmm
