I don’t like this trailer. It’s dumb. What are the distinguishing qualities of this detective? HE’S A NUTTER! He’ll smash up the office like its nothing!!! I don’t expect all black characters to be responsible “representatives” of the race, but I do think this old steroetype of the powerful, hot-blooded black man is unfortunate. I can’t think of any white characters for whom this kind of behaviour is seen as an acceptable trademark. As gorgeous as Idris is, I feel slightly repelled at the thought of more Luther. A shame.
