After I news about the BBC Sound of 2011 shortlist earlier this week I was curious to know the names of the pundits responsible for helping to compile this list, and found a link to this information via fellow blogger Marvin Spark’s blog. Thanks Sparks!

I’m happy to see the following names made it on that list.
Annika Allen – Editor & Co-owner, Flavour Magazine
Matilda Egere-Cooper – Music Writer, The Independent
Marsha Gosho Oakes – Editor/Founder, SoulCulture.co.uk
Congratulations ladies!
I do however think that it’s an absolute travesty that I wasn’t asked by the BBC to help compile this year’s list. Queen Ice Cream and Mafiella deserved to make that shortlist alongside this years nominees Jessie J and Wretch 32, and I could have made that happen.
There is nobody out there that is more passionate about the UK scene than me, apart from Speakz over at Pinboard Blog , and the Soul Culture crew.
UPDATE: In response to this post FURIOUS visitor The Truth stopped by and left this comment.
I can’t believe that someone who is so outspoken about UK music can actually seriously post these nonsense girls (Queen Ice Cream & Mafiella) as potential BBC Sounds of 2011!!?!
And in the same breath say it comes from her passion for the music. janice what are you on? Like seriously??
An individual who I am guessing is new around these parts, doesn’t understand sarcasm, and has no sense of humour.
Hahahahahahaha!
