Raids targeting a wholesale marijuana ring based in New York and Florida resulted in the arrests of 45 people, including one of the founders of the Roc-A-Fella record label, prosecutors said Friday.
Kareem Burke, who started the hip-hop label with Jay-Z and Damon Dash in the 1990s, was caught on a wiretap discussing “grow houses” with the ringleader, federal prosecutors in Manhattan said. An employee of High Times magazine also was charged.
Burke and the others face 10 years to life in prison for allegedly distributing over 1,000 kilos of the drug.
They say Kareem has been a member of this drugs ring since 1992. Oh dear…
I remember seeing Kareem at a press conference that took place here in London several years ago, and he was so rude. No exaggeration, the man behaved as if his s**t didn’t stink. It was clear that money, success and notoriety had gone to his head
Now look at him. Oh how the mighty have fallen.
I wonder if Jay-Z and Damon Dash will be called to testify when this case goes to trial.
