After featuring bikini clad women in his latest video, which also features them dancing in front of the Buddha statue, R&B star Akon has now issued an apology to the Sri Lankan people, and has also had Visa application denied.

Read the statement below.

“I was not aware that the statue was even on the set of the video until now. I would never set out to offend or desecrate anyone’s religion or religious beliefs.

“I myself am a spiritual man, so I can understand why they are offended, but violence is never the answer and I am disheartened to hear about what happened yesterday in Sri Lanka.”

Oh Akon stop lying. Do you really expect us to believe that you had no clue the statue was there until now?

I would have more respect for the man if he just admitted that it never occurred to him that the video might cause offence.

Go away Akon and take your ridiculous new scent Konvict  with you.
