A new strain of the virus that causes AIDS has been discovered in a woman from the African nation of Cameroon. It differs from the three known strains of human immunodeficiency virus and appears to be closely related to a form of simian virus recently discovered in wild gorillas, researchers report in Monday’s edition of the journal Nature Medicine.
The finding “highlights the continuing need to watch closely for the emergence for new HIV variants, particularly in western central Africa,” said the researchers, led by Jean-Christophe Plantier of the University of Rouen, France.
The three previously known HIV strains are related to the simian virus that occurs in chimpanzees.
The most likely explanation for the new find is gorilla-to-human transmission, Plantier’s team said. But they added they cannot rule out the possibility that the new strain started in chimpanzees and moved into gorillas and then humans, or moved directly from chimpanzees to both gorillas and humans.
The 62-year-old patient tested positive for HIV in 2004, shortly after moving to Paris from Cameroon, according to the researchers. She had lived near Yaounde, the capital of Cameroon, but said she had no contact with apes or bush meat, a name often given to meat from wild animals in tropical countries.
The woman currently shows no signs of AIDS and remains untreated, though she still carries the virus, the researchers said. Continue Reading…..

The problem with charity is this. People think that everything from western countries is aunthetic. Call me ungrateful but it has crippled minds and overclouded their judgment and created a dependency syndrom. Yes, its a fact.

Oh dear. If my memory serves me right, isn’t it these same bloody scientists who were using monkeys to try and find a cure for HIV? Then they act surprised? Ok, we are engaging in beastiality which explains how the virus got to humans. I mean its an STD, blood transfusion, etc not airborne or contagious. 2+2 is 5. Right?
The thing is, it’s not just European/Western ideals responsible for such atrocities.
We as humans, on the whole, irregardless of race, have very, very dark tendencies.

Anyone from western countries, black, white, asian, as long as they have an accent, am telling u, can sell anything to 3rd world countries. Even people who go home from here. Its ridiculous.
All i can say is charities have painted a very good image especially to third world countries who are kind of closed off to the other worlds. Sometimes there are consequences for saying NO especially in the trading section. I am saying no more.
Googled unit 731 and some parts of it reminded me of the ebola, cholera and a deadly sea weed that hit home. And recently a plant that resembled a herb people took only it was deadly and no one knew how it came up. Some people are sick. Anyway, i guess life goes on.
The origin of these viruses is not in third world countries, if they have no technology, then they can’t produce these viruses, right? LOL
Apparently phamaceutical companies go to third world countries where the rules are not tight, carry out their experiments, then sell the finished products(drugs) to first world countries, after destroying lives and not even treating them. Then they move on like nothing happened. I guess it has to be done whatever the cost. Right? Whatever. After all, they are keeping our heads above water? Whatever.
