Footballer Rio Ferdinand
Rio Ferdinand has revealed that he has arranged an interview with 50-year-old popstar Michael Jackson.
The England and Manchester United footballer was called by Jackson and invited to one of his summer concerts at London’s O2.
Ferdinand recently launched a digital lifestyle magazine called No.5. Rapper 50 Cent appeared in the first issue.
“I was shaking when I got off the phone. It was a real surprise,” the footballer told the BBC.
“I’m hoping to interview him for a later edition and he’s invited me to one of his concerts to come backstage and speak to him about it.
“The first album I ever owned was [Jackson’s] Bad, so that says it all. I got the album when I was living on the Friary estate in Peckham – who’d have thought that one day I might be meeting the guy?”
A meeting of minds…
I actually like Rio so congratulations.
Now let me go and check out his new online venture.

I like Rio’s moves outside of football. This new online magazine seems ok so far – nothing really groundbreaking as to content, but the layout and design is good, and it’s free. Better than that other footballer backed magazine Icon (which costs £15 per copy!!). But how or why did Jacko contact Rio? It’s not as if he’s know as a journalist or anything.
Positive moves by Rio seems like a stand up guy, one for young people to look up, don’t you can’t, U Can!
did you noticed that he did one interview for bbc, and one for the the sun and on both interviews he got a call from mj about the online magazine. kind weird.
but rio is an ace.
