BBC DEFENDS ‘EXCESSIVE’ JADE GOODY COVERAGE

The BBC has defended its coverage of Jade Goody’s death, after dozens of viewers complained that the story had been given too much prominence.

The broadcaster received 69 official complaints, with many more being posted online, after reportage of Goody’s death led the news bulletins across the corporation’s TV, radio and world service outlets.

However, BBC News executive producer Peter Horrocks has defended the coverage, saying that the prominence was justified because of the public interest in her and “the effect that her sad death had on awareness of cervical cancer”.

First off  Rest In Peace Jade Goody.

Secondly the news coverage was excessive across the board. It took excessiveness to the next level.

Jade’s harrowing plight was turned in to one big morbid reality show thanks to the endless TV, Magazine and newspaper coverage. That’s the truth!

And we the public were more or less forced in to watching her die right before our very own eyes.

E.g. her last public appearance where she was photographed/filmed leaving the hospital lying on a stretcher – dying!

That was the final straw. The media had completely lost their minds.

The BBC should have known better!

    Why are they bringing it up now when she is away? Too late. Let her R.I.P.
    They got the publicity, she got the publicity, end of. Ah

  2. I got my minute to minute update on mad news. Never ever watched her on tv. Never. Ah these people. Now they want to put us through another phase of the after math. Please. What good is it going to do now. They want more publicity and they are all ready to use “cancer awreness” excuse again. Ah
    Jan, are you going to give us the minute to minute update of this as well?
