UK MUSIC – THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY
Former Mis-Teeq group member and ‘Celebrity Strictly Come Dancing’ winner Alesha Dixon’s new track ‘The Boy Does Nothing’ (taken from her forthcoming album ‘The Alesha Show’), premiered today, and is exactly what I expected from Alesha.
Irritating, weak, radio friendly, mainstream bubblegum pop. And I doubt that the other tracks on her album will sound any different.
I have nothing against the woman, but she needs to forget about pursuing a music career. She simply does not have what it takes.
I am putting this track in to my BAD file.

what more mainstream than Misteeq, Jamelia, Leona, I’m not defending here, just asking?… perhaps she should stick to being a tv personality, Im really how talented is she, everybody has talents & gifts, but it’s not a good look when you try and do something in an area where your talents don’t lay… i.e. her singing?

And by rights shouldn’t the former lead vocalist from Mis-teeq (Sabrina) have a solo deal by now. She was the one who had the voice, and wrote some of their tracks.
Or doesn’t her attractive, dark skinned face fit the script?
thats it janice thier skin colour limits them, how marketable are is she, think about estelle talent our now talent she had to fly the cop for her break and she was doing alot musically over here, but wasn’t never gonna get the attention she deserved… in fact lets count how many successful, black, dark skinned artists are having success over here right now…

Sabrina recorded a solo album that was meant to come out during the summer, but it was slated for an independent release so that says it all really.

Keisha from the Suga Babes slipped through the net. Shaznay from All Saints talented song writer, but resorted to getting a nose job at the height of their fame.The others got all the attention. But Shaz made the real money.
Oh Alesha, just listened to the track, first few chords, very, very lame. Stick to Strictly, or presenting, maybe try a bit of acting. Leave the singing to those who can. Said with Love. 🙂

I like the song its catchy and puts a smile on this ole face. So what if its ‘bubblegum’? It beats rapping about guns and gangs anyday. Alesha has the personality to pull it off. I hope it’s a hit.
