New York based independent record label TVT Records terminated the majority of their employees yesterday afternoon (February 18), sources have revealed to AllHipHop.com TVT, which is home to major recording stars like Lil Jon & The Eastside Boyz, Pitbull, Ying Yang Twins, and others, is expected to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection this week. TVT Records was founded by its current President, Steve Gottlieb, who launched the label out of his New York City apartment in 1985.
TVT has been experiencing financial difficulties for some time now, so this news doesn’t come as a surprise.
I feel for the staff members who are now unemployed, but the fact that the likes of the Ying Yang Twins and Lil Jon will be out of action for a while is a fantastic result!
