Well they did announce several weeks back that a, and I quote, “black American” would be headlining this year’s event .
Ty asked this question and now I’m asking it…..’SINCE WHEN DID THEY START REFERENCING HEADLINERS BY COLOUR???
But any way the organisers should be congratulated, because they succeded in bagging an A-List “black American” to fill the much hailed and coveted slot…..

just one thing.. and i have to ask.
some people dont like the usage of the word urban, and i fully understand that, fair enough.. i have seen that myself since it was pointed out to me, and when i heard it on pre watershed bbc i knew exactly what the persons was saying… they did use it to replace the word black, or it seemed that way to me. they described her as young urban artist not young black artist. seemed like they didnt want to use the word black on the bbc at that time of day.
so now..whats wrong with this..he is black..he is american.. what would you rather they called him? if not black or urban then what can be considered ok? i guess american rapper would of sufficed?
obviously they needed to keep it secret ish but still tease..till it was confirmed i guess? or they would of just used his name.
havin said that what if the guy was Asian they couldnt use the word yellow that would seem very wrong so.. im not sure where i stand here, what i think. if its wright or wrong im not sure. and what about black miss world/black x factor/black music. etc the word black is already widely used to describe events etc. what makes this anymore offensive?
