Last night the UK “URBAN” press were out in full force for the 2012 MOBO (Music of Black Origin) Awards nominations launch party which took place in London’s trendy Soho.
MOBO founder Kanya King said:
We are very excited about the nominations for the 17th MOBO Awards. The talent this year has been truly exceptional and we are so proud to be flying the flag for urban music which has again been dominating the charts in the past MOBO Music year.

Tulisa receives a Best UK Female nomination – REALLY??? How is that possible???
Ed Sheeran – *confused face*
Maverick Sabre receives Best R&B/Soul nomination – I’m surprised they didn’t throw in a Best Reggae nomination too.
The individuals who sit on the MOBO committee and put together the nomination lists each year are a bunch of jokers.
I’m done.

Does anyone take the Mobo’s seriously anymore anyway!
its that time….
Where is it being held this time? Liverpool again? Ah, lost interest in this some time back. Tulisa?? Jessie J? It’s a big joke! People Stateside must be laughing at us!
Truth be told, the MOBO’s are only interesting for the banter on Twitter. It’s lost its place as a serious platform for real music of black origin.
