33 MINERS FINALLY RESCUED IN CHILE

Source There are celebrations in Chile and across the world today after 33 miners trapped half a mile underground were finally brought safely to the surface. EARTHQUAKE HITS CHILE

Via BBC News A massive earthquake has hit central Chile and killed at least 214 people, the interior minister says. The 8.8 quake caused widespread damage, destroying buildings, bridges and roads in many areas, including the capital where a chemical plant caught fire. Electricity, water and phone lines have been cut. Hundreds of thousands of people are believed to be affected. T-PAIN CANCELS CONCERT IN GUYANA AFTER RECEIVING DEATH/KIDNAPPING THREATS

Via Associated Press R&B singer T-Pain has canceled a concert in Guyana after receiving what a promoter calls “credible death and kidnapping threats.” Kerwin Bollers says Monday’s performance for Carnival celebrations was called off after e-mail and phone threats from an unidentified source. Police Commander Leroy Bollers reporters Sunday that authorities will investigate. T-Pain would have been one of the best-known U.S. singers to perform in the South American nation in years.
