UK BLACK MUSIC ACTS: UNSIGNED UK HYPE!

My regular readers will already know that I dutifully showcase UK talent on Mad News (UK Black Music – The Good, The Bad and the Ugly).   But the majority of UK talent featured so far has been of the worst kind, and ultimately end up in my Ugly file.   I have to admit though I do find below par UK talent highly amusing, which could explain why I have created a platform for such mediocrity (lol!)   However, recently I’ve been thinking, []

UK ARTIST: MARSHA AMBROSIUS INTERVIEW

Marsha is British (born and raised) but has switched to speaking in an American/translatlantic twang since moving Stateside to pursue her career. Although I could be wrong in this instance. UK BLACK MUSIC: THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY Dirty Starr attempted to re-create a hint of that 1970s soul vibe on the track ‘Gangster Boogie’, but flopped! Actually to be fair the music isn’t bad, rapper Fumin sounds ok, but the guy singing on the track just sounds awful!!! I mean was it his intention to sing out of tune for “effect”, or is this his best Ronald Isley impression? Anyway I will be putting ‘Gangster Boogie’ in to my So So []

FLASHBACK: 80S UK BLACK BRITISH MUSIC – ‘IMAGINATION’

Several weeks ago I posted a selection of music videos featuring 80s black British acts, but forgot to include these guys…. Imagination were brilliant lol. They were theatrical and oh so camp! Loved them! ‘Body Talk’ (Circa 1981) ‘Just An Illusion’ (Circa 1982) I wonder where they are now?
