UK NEWS: OK! MAGAZINE APOLOGISES FOR NOEL CLARKE AND KANO “MIX UP”

Earlier on today I asked OK! Magazine if they thought that all black men looked alike, because they posted a story on their website about actor/director Noel Clarke, and then posted a photograph of UK rapper Kano to go with the article.  If you missed it then click here to take in the hilarity of it all.   Since then OK! have corrected their mistake and issued an apology to an annoyed Noel…. via TWITTER.  @noelclarke No excuses Noel. UNIVERSAL PICTURES RESPOND TO COUPLES RETREAT INTERNATIONAL POSTER BACKLASH

In October I blogged about the film Couples Retreat and it’s suspect promotional material. Click here to read. The international poster promoting the film (also seen here in Britain) does not feature African American actors Faizon Love and Kali Hawk. However the US poster does feature both actors but they have both been deliberately placed right at the back. UK NEWS: STRICTLY COME DANCING STAR APOLOGISES FOR RACIAL SLUR

Via The Guardian The BBC has received 63 complaints after it emerged Strictly Come Dancing star Anton Du Beke called his dance partner Laila Rouass a “Paki”. The dancer issued an apology after the News of the World revealed he had used the offensive term to describe the actor Laila Rouass, his partner on the BBC1 show. Du Beke reportedly said Rouass, who is mixed race, “looked like a Paki” after she turned up to a rehearsal with a spray tan. Rouass []
