Trix Worrell is a Saint Lucian born writer and director.

After graduating from the National Film and Television School, he won Channel 4’s ‘Debut’ writers competition and later went on to create, write and direct the hit Channel 4 sitcom ‘Desmond’s’ (1989 to 1994) and its spinoff ‘Porkpie’ (1995 to 1996).

His other TV credits include writing for the MTV Europe award ceremony, the MOBO Awards and the Windrush Ceremony which aired on BBC Two. His film credits include, ‘For Queen and Country’ (1988), starring Denzel Washington.

In the 1990s, Worrell launched Wicked Films and Trijbits & Worrell with his business partner Paul Trijbits. They opened offices in Los Angeles and went on to work with New Line Cinema, Fox, Universal and Disney.

Worrell is a British Comedy and the Royal Television Society award winner, a recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Medal from the Royal Television Society and was made an honorary member of the British Comedy Academy in 2011.

Worrell is currently working on his first novel.
