Rodney P is on a mission to discover why Britain hasn’t fallen in love with West Indian food.
I don’t agree with the writer and “food connoisseur” who says that we may have to think about dumbing down our cuisine in order to make it more appealing to others.
First it’s our music and now the suggestion is to water down our cuisine to suite a “mainstream” palate.
NOT ON MY WATCH!
West Indian cuisine is very popular so there is no need for this “dumb down” talk.
In my opinion some of these take-away/restaurant owners just need to step their business game up, with regards to service. The businesses generally tend to do quite well financially, but owners could still be doing more to attract more custom (e.g. introduce delivery services and think about possible expansion etc ).
Some owners also need to understand the importance of providing staff training and good efficient customer service.
