The Los Angeles Times reports that one person was killed and four injured after a shooting at a party ahead of the BET (Black Entertainment Television) Awards in Los Angeles early this morning. The shooting occurred at Monalizza Restaurant and Banquet Hall.
Los Angeles police officer Drake Madison said that the party was related to the BET Awards, but it was not part of the official events.
BET has not yet responded to a request for statement.
