David Cohen, Campaigns Editor at the London Evening Standard leads a discussion with Camila Batmanghelidjh, founder of Kids Company, former gang members Feras Al-Bakri and Karl Lokko and hip-hop artist Akala to investigate the impact of gang culture on young people, rites of passage and the sense of ‘family’ that attracts young men to gang membership.
The session is introduced by Southbank Centre’s Artistic Director Jude Kelly.

This was brilliant. Well done to everyone on the panel.

Was really interesting and insightful. Would have loved it to carry on. Well done to Kyle. An intelligent young man I went school with. He’s come a long way. It’s alway a good thing when one can turn their negative past and direct it into a positive future. Maybe one day he could come back and be an MP for his borough.
