After it was announced yesterday that former prime minister Baroness Margaret Thatcher had died her critics took to the streets in celebration across the country. In Brixton, Glasgow and Leeds people opened champagne and cheered, shouting: “Maggie, Maggie, Maggie, dead, dead, dead”. The celebrations continued in to the early hours of this morning and police struggled to disperse the crowds that gathered.
