Why didn’t members from her team sit her down and tell her the truth about this performance during rehearsals? Why didn’t anyone say ‘look you’re going to make a complete fool of yourself if you go ahead with this performance’?

I like Dolly’s version of the song too. I actually think she should have sang it. But Jennifer did do a good job.
Yeah, it would have been nice Dolly singing it, but i wonder whether people like Dolly can turn up on such short notice. It was very sudden, but she spoke nicely about Whitney doing this song.
i couldnt make out what ol onicka was saying. I see a trend here – religious symbolism used in the opposite way. Her arrival outfit with toy pope says it all really.
