I weep for Alexandra and her music career in this country. I know she doesn’t want to make music like this but her label RCA (part of the Sony Music group) obviously have different ideas.
*Note: RCA delayed the release of Elephant twice before giving it an official release date*
Don’t be surprised when it’s announced that Alexandra is no longer signed to RCA.
At this point in time the only black British female artist who is being courted by the mainstream while still being allowed to make credible music is the talented / Brit Awards nominee Emeli Sande. Introducing herself to the masses by appearing on the hit number 1 single Read All About It with rapper Professor Green also gave her a pass.

“An elephant in the Road”, what is that all about? The girls got a nice voice but I am definitely not feeling this song!
They built her image around ballad singing and then things took a different turn. I have always thought and still think that X factor does not have long term plans for its contestants. As soon as new winners come up, it’s like they forget the old one in an instant and go with what’s there then. There’s no longevity with these artists and like you said, they have no control whatsoever over what they put out(atleast most of them). But hey, they help to fill people’s pockets regardless of the type of music they put out.
Mmm such a shame they dont let her do credible RnB alongside this dance malarky. Dance music is good but Alexandra can sing. She needs a power ballad.
