The first ever Black Book Swap event will take place on Saturday 3 March. There will be books to swap, authors to meet: Alex Wheatle, Chibundu Onuzo, Colin Grant, Sonja Lewis and Bim Adewunmi, and also the chance to meet other book lovers and dedicated readers.
Bring a book to swap: whether you loved it and want others to know that joy or hated it but cannot bring yourself to bin it, bring it along and swap it. You are bound to find an exciting read to replace it. Come along and join in even if you don’t have a book to swap. Any leftover books will be donated to charity.
Black Book Swap is free but as places are limited, so best to reserve a place, email: blackbookswap@gmail.com
The authors and writers in conversation at Black Book Swap will be:

Colin Grant: Best known as an historian, ‘…explaining the Afrocentric side of Jamaican culture and history to the world,’ Colin’s new book Bageye at the Wheel (published in April) is a memoir of growing up as one of the few black families in Luton during the 1970s.

That’s a really good idea, if I was living in London I’d be the first person there. I’ve got alot of black books. Hopefully it’s a success black writers never get enough credit. I read two of Alex Wheatle’s books and loved them
Nice idea…..
@Chico- Rei….you could always move back hahahahaa!
