The Wigan chairman Dave Whelan has said players are “out of order” to complain about being referred to by their race.
Whelan, responding to allegations against John Terry, which the England captain denies, told LBC the issue of racism in football was overblown, and that players “should just get on with it”.
He said: “If a white man insults a black man that’s big, big news. If a black man insults a white man that’s nothing, and it’s expected.
“I think we should forget colour and … you know, it doesn’t bother anybody. Sometimes a footballer, when they’re playing at such a level, with the stress there is … if they call somebody white, if they call somebody black, you’ve just got to get on with it.

Well at least the black footballers who play for Wigan know where their chairman stands when it comes to subject of racism in football. If they suffer abuse there is no point in looking to this old fool for help. Their complaints will be ignored.

what would the FA do if all the black and non white footballers hung up their boots and did a industrial walkout. I wonder how the game would look.
as for that old decrepit thing. he should stop complaining about people standing up for their basic human rights. he should just shut up and just deal. name calling forms a part of bullying and can never be accepted. when you add race its racial bullying. both are crimes by law.

Hubby just reminded me that this whelan guy should concentrate on the club up and coming regulation. He was one of the vocal people who made a stand against Marlon King when he went prison and said he shouldnt play again ever and cancelled his contract. Yet Joey barton who cant even go to usa because of his violent criminal record which keeps growing he heaps praise on him and supports him to get into england squad. so wigan chairman is a vocal racist but through business needs requires no needs non -white players in his squad.
