MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS 2011 – THE WINNERS

The MTV Video Music Awards 2011 took place last night in Los Angeles, and I would post footage of the best/worst performances but VIACOM (owners of MTV, VH1 and BET) are beasts when it comes to ripping down any of their award ceremony footage that have been posted online. So I am not going to waste anytime posting footage because they will disappear within seconds. But check out the winners list below. VIDEO OF THE YEAR Katy Perry, “Firework” BEST FEMALE VIDEO []

QUOTE OF THE DAY: SIMON COWELL

“I came to the conclusion that she may not be as comfortable here (in the US) because I was seeing a different person. She was like Princess Diana when she would walk out in England, and I accepted the fact that people didn’t know her here, but I think it did have an effect on her.. “I said, ‘Cheryl, you’ve got to raise your game a bit. This is America, it’s a much tougher market.’” Simon Cowell talks about Cheryl Cole’s flop []

VIDEO: PHARRELL WILLIAMS STARS IN REVLON COMMERCIAL

I realise that I have probably jumped on this a little late (commercial was released in June) but it hasn’t (well not to my knowledge) aired on British television yet and I only just came across it today. Anyway check out the “new” Revlon commercial starring Pharrell with actress Jessica Biel (music by Pharrell). …… erm…. Pharrell in a Revlon commercial…. hmmm…interesting.

AALIYAH DANA HAUGHTON (JANUARY 16, 1979 – AUGUST 25, 2011)

……………… Today marks the 10th anniversary of singer Aaliyah Dana Haughton’s tragic death. Aaliyah and various members of the record company boarded a twin-engine Cessna 402B (registration N8097W) at Marsh Harbour, Abaco Islands, The Bahamas, to travel to the airport in Opa-locka, Florida, after they completed filming the music video for the single “Rock the Boat”.
