Oh dear…. Via The Evening Standard The deputy mayor of Lambeth has been arrested after an attack that left a man with a broken jaw and ribs and requiring 27 stitches. Liberal Democrat Judith Best, 51, attended a police station on Saturday and was arrested accused  of actual bodily harm with conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm. She was bailed. With music supplied by BBC Radio 1’s Reggie Yates going back to back with Manny Norte, acclaimed producer/DJ Hudson Mohawke, female DJ and scratch wizz Kayper and BBC 1Xtra’s Semtex, Red Bull Studios played host to a fun and exuberant book launch in true Hip-Hop bling fashion.  Adjacent to the main party was a gallery space exhibiting 30 key images from Hip-Hop: A Cultural Odyssey’s expansive pages.

Rolling Stone reports that the US government has asked Black Eyed Peas front man Will.i.am to organise a concert in Beijing China which will apparently help to “encourage cultural and educational exchanges between China and the United States. According to the publication ‘Secretary of State Hillary Clinton met with the rapper on Friday to discuss the project, which is part of the Obama administration’s 100,000 Strong Initiative,  a program developed to increase the number of Americans studying abroad in China’.
