18 year-old Stephen Lawrence was murdered in a racially motivated attack at a bus stop 18 years ago on the 22 April 1993. Although no one has ever been found guilty of the murder, he didn’t die in vain. Journalist Marvin Sparks spoke to UK rapper Ty on the impact of his death, his parents fight to bring exposure to their son’s murder, compares then with now on race relations in the UK, police treatment, the role the media played and why Stephen Lawrence’s legacy is important to us all.
Well said Ty!!!
Rest In Peace Stephen Lawrence.

And that’s all.
Alright TY!!!!!!!!!! For speaking openly and honestly about an issue that is real. And considering who you are in the game…..i take my hat off to you brotha! So many people in your position don’t want to speak openly and honestly in fear of maybe a backlash. As I listened to what TY had to say it just reminds me that the UK is basically no different than over here in the US when it comes to major racial issues. Or shall I say some major eye opening issue in the Black community. It seems like someone always have to die in order for our community to pay attention. Man I also think of so many eye opening moments over here in the US… And even though things appear to be better..in reality it’s not. It’s just done on a different level… But we will overcome this just as we have always over everything else. Much love for my brotha TY!
thank you moreno thank you dera……
i dont see the point in pretending tings are great just to sell a few more records… nope!!
I totally agree Ty, well spoken!
That was so spot on its unreal!
Nice one Bro!!!
