Why does the fashion industry continue to encourage this madness???? Does it give them some sort of a thrill to put young women on the catwalk who clearly have eating disorders?
I’m guessing that the model below just lives off a diet of lettuce and water. She looks terrible.

Well Janice the sad part is…is that most people fall for whatever they tell you is beautiful. Or better yet this is how our women should look… I would never want to see a Black woman looking like this. It’s not attractive…nothing about her look desirable…..sorry!
She looks like a ghoul or the undead or something.
This look is definitely catching on among our people, most black women I know have no meat left because of this type of promotion and I see this look especially among the youth. Monkey see, monkey do.

@Verbs2011 you have to be joking!!! Maybe in the UK but here in the states not at all. Well at least i haven’t noticed it. But this is what i always talk about how we as Black people are so influenced by others. And the sad part is that we don’t know it. We don’t have to be like others…we’re BEAUTIFUL AND BLACK…
the irony that people starve themselves in the west to look gaunt for fashion. the clothes are wearing her.
She could have done with the curry chicken and dumplings I had for dinner. yikes
One of the ways to stop this trend is to stop buying clothes from designers who employ/request unhealthy looking models and “celebrities” stopping showing up at those shows.
I haven’t seen a walking carcuss in a while.

I’m totally hearing you on the state side, I was there not so long ago and was happy to see my sisters with the full bodied figure that is naturally built into their genetics. Come over here bro and you will see it is a totally different story, the European skinny build is the current trend.

@Verbs2011 So at least you know what I’m talking about. My thing is…people can do whatever they want to do. They can copy any trend that they see fit… But why must it be whatever European whites dictate we jump onto? Why is it that we are never happy with the way we are made? Why not come up with our own trends?? I know we do but I’m talking about just something about us that shows pride. I never liked a skinny woman…she has to have some meat on her. That is what I like and it’s what I see as attractive. I never thought of a white woman as beautiful. That doesn’t mean that they aren’t beautiful to others. And I don’t care if they are to some… My thing is just us as Black people always conforming to others. I always hear about mix race from the UK.. I hear light skinned here in the USA…(I said light skinned.lol) WHAT’S THE HELL IS THAT ABOUT?? Or I don’t like dark skinned girls or guys…. I hear d this 12 year old kid…his dad is one of my best friends.. His son said to me I don’t like dark skin girls because they look like they stink!!! I was like what the hell…I just said you’re mom is dark…does she stink…. He couldn’t say anything…so where is this coming from…this self hate… and he is dark as well. This is the second time I hear that come out of a young kid mouth… Ok off this….lol! Yeah the sisters over here are nice and thick…. And a lot of them are very confident as well and I love seeing that. Peace…. Next time you’re in the states let a brother know….

Our time is soon coming bro, the tables will turn. Over here the mixed heritage Mel B Spice Girls look is as far as they will go in terms of commercials and advertisements, you will rarely see a dark skinned black woman featured in a commercial and if you do, she is normally paired up with a European man(promoting the interracial mixing agenda). Sure thing, when I’m back there I’ll hit you up.
@Verbs20l1 well you are right about back in the day…yes the white man did promote white. And your right about being taught to hate ourselves. And the sad part is that it’s still going on today. Some Black people can’t even see how affected they are still to all of this. But you’re right our time will come. And i was so hoping things were different over in the UK. But why would it be this issue is universal. You have me thinking about Black people in commercials over here… You will see a dark skinned Black in some advertisement. But you will mostly see the Beyonce and Halle type in most of the commercials. But we say nothing about it and that is why it’s done. Then you have the music videos…nothing but light skinned females and males in those. So that shows the lack over love for all shades of us in our community. And it is passed on to our youth…and they have no clue what’s going on. I some how hit your name and i see you have a blog…man very interesting stuff. I will read more this weekend and hit you up with what i think. But ican say i really like what you were saying about the church….. you’re so on point…. Peace brother…
