UK EVENT / PICS: THE INDUSTRY TAKEOVER – WOMEN IN MUSIC

Last Thursday Mad News attended the The Industry Takeover – women in music seminar, showcase and open mic at Rich Mix in East London. Music artist Lioness, Chantelle Fiddy (Journalist/Contributing Editor, Rwd Mag), Annika Allen ( Editor-In-Chief of Flavour Magazine),  Charmaine Hayden (Founder of Face4Music / Artist Manager), and Sarah Young (DJ/Stylist), made up the panel of successful ladies in music, and offered encouraging advice to those sitting in the audience eager to make their mark in the world of entertainment. UK MUSIC NEWS /VIDEO: LETHAL BIZZLE SET TO RELEASE ‘POW’ 2011

Team UK stand up and rejoice! Lethal Bizzle has announced that he is about to drop the 2011 version of his 2004 hit Pow, this time featuring Kano. Check out what an excited Lethal has to say about the 2011 version. Just last week I overheard a teenager at the bus stop say to his friend… “wouldnt it be good if Lethal Bizzle released a 2011 version of Pow. The world needs this blud!”

On the 30th October the 2nd BEFFTA Awards (Black Entertainment, Film, Fashion, Television & Arts Awards) took place at the Central Hall Westminster and celebrated the achievements of black and ethnic personalities in entertainment, film, fashion television and arts. UK FILM: THE PICK UP (TRAILER)

The Pick Up is a short film written and directed by British actor Aml Ameen. Check out the trailer below. UK NEWS: DJ IRONIK ATTACKED AND STABBED

UK artist DJ Ironik (real name James Christian Charters) was attacked and stabbed in the early hours of Saturday morning during an attempted robbery whilst returning to his home in North London. His spokesman said, “he was stabbed in his upper leg, taken to hospital and is currently being treated.
