I’m not sure if the writer of this article ( Sophy Ridge) knows this but there are people living with AIDS/HIV all over the world. And credit card fraud and scams also take place all over the world not just in Africa!
Every country on earth has a seedy underbelly Sophy!
I don’t remember the newspapers “delving deep” and publishing articles like this, designed to provoke fear and ignorance before other nations were set to host the World Cup in the past.
What’s the real motive behind this scaremongering article?

For the first time ever an AFRICAN nation is hosting the biggest sporting event in the world. I guess that in some quarters this was and still is a bitter pill to take.
So what do you do next? Fire up the old lap top and write an article featuring suspect facts and figures, that falsely helps to portray Africans as being AIDS riddled, sex obsessed thieving animals, who are not to be trusted.

Black people are the face of AIDS according to people of this country. I saw something like this awhile ago but it was the south africans who wanted to test sex workers who were planning to work during world cup. The sad thing is that it came accross like they were the proa and all those who will be going over there will be AIDS free. According to the reporter this Mother without a Pimp would be making £30k+ a year by working 4-5 days with 10-20 clients, no interest, tax or NI + cheap rent. Along with the currency value of South Africa, but yet she craps in a buckets and lives in a shed and shares tap water. She’d be filthy rich especially if she ups her rate *5 for world cup.

I was so angered today when I saw the article on their website, was gonna buy their paper today to read the footie news, and thought I’d check online instead, I saw the image and heading and got sooo mad, (was glad I never spent my money on that paper, and won’t be again) I didn’t even read the article I was so angry, the picture and headline just killed me, there was absolutely no need, no need at all!… why was there a need to warn fans about the possibility of catching aids/hiv from working women in south africa, why was that news? why was that relevant?? I’m still F’d off about that! if people wanna go and sleep with working women, let them do what they are doing, but I’m not surprised after seeing she is an oxford uni grad! ARRRGGGGHHHH!, I just wanna shake the shhh out of her!

South Africans are not responsible for anyone’s sexual habit while over there. If you are going there to watch football, stick to the plan and keep it in your pants. When British people go for holidays and have drunken nights and engage in one night stands and behavE like nothing matters, these countries do not put out fliers warning their residents on the possibilty of their people contracting HIV from careless British folks. When British folks go and behave like hooligans during football, i still do not see them being banned AND RESIDENTS BEING WARNED TO STAY AWAY FROM the possible battery and bottle fights. Nonsense
I think the article mentioned that Britain donates money towards HIV/AIDS fight, or something like that anyway, which would explain why it is justifiable for them to easily brand Isabel as a killer and why they had to blow up her picture. I mean, if someone gives you their money, thay can do whatever the heck they want. Right? *shrugs* And ofcourse, the HIV/AIDS that is in AFRICA is the deadly one, not the one in BRITAIN, and the lives of the sex workers who are HIV/AIDS free are not that important anyway, so since they have decided to sell sex, they deserve to contract the HIV/AIDS from all those who are travelling to the world cup and have the virus. After all, they are doing them a favour by increasing their income. *shrugs*
