The media hasn’t been that quick to promote this event….
I originally posted news of Alexandra’s impending trip to Haiti on February 8th.
That was a quick visit….

Alexandra Burke has said that she is ‘heartbroken’ after visiting Haiti to see the devastation caused by the country’s recent earthquake disaster.
The X Factor winner flew out to Haiti’s capital Port-au-Prince earlier this week in a bid to raise further awareness of the struggles faced by the country.
During her visit, Burke met ‘miracle boy’ Kiki Joachin, 7, who was rescued from rubble after days trapped underground. She also visited a Save The Children camp, where she played with youngsters and handed out presents.
The 21-year-old told The Sun: “The desperation of so many people has broken my heart. Kiki is the bravest person I’ve ever met.”
She continued: “You see the poverty and destruction in the papers or on the news, but nothing prepares you for this. It’s like being punched in the stomach. I just hope millions buy the ‘Everybody Hurts’ single. This is a whole country on its knees.” Continue Reading….
I look forward to watching the half-hour ITV 1 documentary Alex.
I hope this isn’t just a ‘PR move’ because Alex’s music career seems to have stalled of late…
I wonder if she’s fronting a documentary…..
Do you know what? I need to stop being so cynical!

The singer is to visit the troubled country this week after recently taking part in Simon Cowell’s Haiti charity single.
Speaking to the News of the World, Burke explained: “For me, singing two lines on a single doesn’t mean I have really helped. I wanted to go out and physically help the kids. I’m not a doctor, but I can give clothes, food and love. At least I’ll be able to make a couple of kids smile.”
She added: “It hurt me when I saw the photographs of dead bodies on the streets. I was really angry, thinking ‘what is this world coming to?’ That is when I begged my label to let me go out there.
She actually begged the label to let her go…
Music mogul Simon Cowell has confirmed that he is in the process of organising a charity single to help raise funds for the Haiti Earthquake Appeal.
We made the decision today. We had a request from the prime minister and The Sun newspaper, ‘Would we put a record together?’ So we haven’t got a lot of time but we are going to do something and attempt to raise as much money as possible.
The “nations sweetheart”, convicted batterer of toilet attendents and ‘alleged’ racist Cheryl Cole added,
“I just heard about [the song] tonight. It sounds like a great idea… Simon is great at giving back.”
Picture it, Prime Minister Gordon Brown and that tabloid rag The Sun running to Simon Cowell and asking if he “will put a record together”.
Funniest thing I’ve read all day.
And I didn’t know The Sun cared! Yes that’s right I remember the racist headlines from back in the day Rupert! I haven’t forgotten…….
Anyway you can bet that “the nations sweetheart” Chezza Cole will be one of the many ‘artists’ featured on the track. Oh and not forgetting X-factor winner Joe McEldery.
It should be a classic….

It’s for a good cause but people only ever show up to benefit concerts to see their favourite artists perform live on stage. Rarely do they think or care about the cause, and the majority of artists who agree to take part do it because it’s good PR, or desperately need to kick-start a comeback ( yes I’m talking about you Christina Aguilera).
Anyway so far we have Bono (A must have!), Justin Timberlake, Christina and Alicia Keys on the bill. Do they also plan on inviting artists from all over the Caribbean to perform too???
…..And I don’t just mean Rihanna, The Marley family and Sean Paul.
Enquiring minds would like to know….
Several days ago the ultra annoying Russell Simmons EXCITEDLY tweeted to the world that “disgraced” golfer Tiger Woods was planning on donating aid to Haiti. Click HERE to read all about it if you missed it.
Well it now appears that Mr Know It All Simmons got it oh so wrong!
Via TMZTiger’s people say they are still evaluating the best way to help, but that didn’t stop Russell from committing Tiger to something he hasn’t committed to yet.Tiger’s camp says they plan to be a part of the relief effort, they are just considering their options.“Yesterday, I tweeted that Tiger Woods was contributing in a major way. My source for the tweet was premature, however, I strongly and passionately urge everyone with reach and means to act NOW as speed is everything to saving the lives of people in desperate need.”
