UK RADIO NEWS: CHOICE FM HOST EDDIE KADI LEAVES STATION

August 4, 2012 2 comments

Eddie Kadi

Comedian and Choice FM host Eddie Kadi announced today that he will no longer be working for the station.

This announcement has actually shocked me. His Saturday morning show is really popular. I wonder what happened. Is this a sign that Choice (Global) might be cleaning house again?

Anyway I wish Eddie the all the best with his future projects.

Former KISS radio personality Manny Norte has now joined Choice and taken over the time slot.

UK NEWS: RICHARD BLACKWOOD DROPPED FROM SHREK THE MUSICAL???

June 6, 2011 Leave a comment

According to the theatre review website The Public Reviews, rumour has it that comedian Richard Blackwood will no longer be playing the character Donkey in Shrek The Musical

From what I’ve heard so far Richard’s performance as Donkey has been pretty good so I don’t quite understand why he would be forced to leave the show now.

I hope this is just a bad rumour.

UK TV: EASTENDERS CONFIRMS MERCY’S DEPARTURE

May 12, 2011 3 comments

Actress Bunmi Mojekwu (Mercy)

Digital Spy reports that actress Bunmi Mojekwu who plays Mercy Olubunmi in the BBC 1 soap Eastenders, will be written out of the hit show later this year.

EastEnders bosses have today confirmed that Mercy Olubunmi will be leaving Albert Square later this year.

The Walford student, played by actress Bunmi Mojekwu, will bow out on-screen in the summer after a year as a regular cast member on the show.

Mercy is currently caught up in an immigration drama after the UK Border Agency threatened to deport her for outstaying her visa.

I wondered how long it would be before they decided to write the character out of the show.  The ridiculous immigration storyline signalled the end for the actress who plays her.

I remember when the Eastenders team initially announced that the character of Mercy who was first seen in Eastenders online spin off Eastenders: E20, had not been chosen to make the transition from the online drama to the main show (the only leading cast member to be excluded ). Click HERE to read all about it. But then several weeks later after I openly questioned this decision they suddenly changed their minds (Hahahaha). Click HERE to read all about.

Anyway I wish you the best of luck for the future Bunmi.

March 3, 2010 2 comments

DJ Masterstepz

Award nominated DJ, Masterstepz, today announced his resignation from the radio station Choice FM, where has been a long standing and respected resident DJ for over six years.

Whilst being at Choice FM, Masterstepz has had his own weekday show from 7pm-9pm, meeting and interviewing music artists and sportsmen such as Jay-Z, Mary J Blige, Tinchy Styder, Rihanna, Rio Ferdinand, Bashy, David Haye, NeYo, Alicia Keys and Mariah Carey, who personally presented him with a mounted triple platinum disc for her album, The Emancipation Of Mimi, to name a few. In May 2009, as a result of the largest increase of listeners throughout all shows on Choice FM, Masterstepz’s show was extended by one hour till 10pm.

Throughout his six years at Choice FM, Masterstepz was the ambassador of youth music and an active member of Choice FM’s ‘Peace On The Streets’ campaign, which works in association with Operation Trident, to deliver anti-gun/weapon crime messages. This was done via seminars, events and workshops at schools and youth centres all over London and the South East. In 2004, Masterstepz and ‘Peace On The Streets’ were the winners of the Sony Radio Academy Awards.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed working on the Peace On The Streets campaign and winning the Sony award for that show, as well as all the live broadcast shows and events such as Junior Jam and all the concerts Choice FM sponsored and that I hosted. I will miss Choice FM and wish all the presenters and staff all the best, but it’s time for me to move forward in my career and take up some exciting opportunities I have been offered”.

Masterstepz is currently signed to major US management/DJ agency, Violator, as their first and only UK DJ on their roster, alongside heavyweight international artists such as Diddy, 50 Cent, and Busta Rhymes, and the cream of US DJ talent.

Masterstepz’s last show on Choice FM will be this Friday, March 5th, from 7pm-10pm.

……………………………………………………………….

This news shocked me. He was like an old piece of furniture over at Choice.

Anyway the best of luck with your future endeavours MasterStepz.
