Will Smith and his son Jaden Smith have both won Razzie Awards for their efforts in the sci-fi film After Earth.
The father and son won three awards, Jaden Smith for worst actor, Will Smith for worst supporting actor and worst screen combo.
After Earth cost $130m (£78m) to make and was co-written by Will Smith and directed by M Night Shyamalan. The film only grossed $60m at the US and Canadian box office.
Jaden and Will did not attend the ceremony.
The Golden Raspberry Awards, called the Razzies for short, is an award ceremony in recognition of the worst in film. Founded by American copywriter and publicist John J. B. Wilson in 1980, the annual Razzie Awards ceremony in Los Angeles precedes the corresponding Academy Awards ceremony by one day. The term raspberry in the name is used in its irreverent sense, as in “blowing a raspberry”. The awards themselves are in the form of a “golfball-sized raspberry” which sits atop a Super 8 mm film reel, the whole of which is spray-painted gold.
Hahahahahahahaha – Oh dear!
The Razzies crack me up. I would love to attend a ceremony one day.
I still have not watched After Earth but judging from the clips that I have seen it just looks like one big old vanity project for the Smiths.
Apologies for the late posting of this bizarre story.
Football giant Lazio has threatened legal action against a Senegalese website which has claimed 17 year old player Joseph Marie Minala is actually 41 years old.
The club said in a statement:
‘Lazio denounce this latest attempt from hostile figures to throw a sinister light on this club. We reserve the right to take action against those responsible for the protection of the good name of the company and the footballer.’
Minala’s agent Diego Tavano told Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport:
“He had a difficult time growing up. Talk to him and you’ll see he’s a 17-year-old lad in every way.”
The Cameroonian star joined the Italian team last year and has done exceptionally well in the youth team under-20s championship. But Senego.net claims Minala confessed he was turning 42 this August and had lied about his age in order to send money home to his family in Cameroon. Minala’s childhood friends also claim that the player is a lot older.
In response to the allegations Minala said:
“I have read the alleged statements posted on the website in which it says I confessed my real age which was different to what was stated in my official documents. They are false statements attributed to me by people who do not know me.”
I am sorry but this does not look like a 17 year old. Compared to his team mates Minala looks like he could be their father and in his late thirties / early forties.
Did no one at Lazio question the legitimacy of his age when they first clapped eyes on him?
His agent says he had a ‘difficult time growing up’ which explains why he looks a lot older than his years. But I still find it hard to believe that this man was born in 1996.
You can be 17 years old and look mature for your age but not THAT mature.
This is a Nollywood film in the making….
Several weeks ago Madonna caused uproar after she called her Caucasian son Rocco Ritchie a ‘nigga’ on her Instagram page (Click here to read all about it).
The star was then later forced to apologise.
Last night the 55 year old (who is old enough to know better) rocked up to The Grammys red carpet with a gold grill in her mouth and her adopted black son David Banda in tow. Click here to watch them talking to E! host Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet.
Oh dear…. Now isn’t it odd that not long after ‘nigga gate’ Madonna suddenly decides to thrust David Banda even more in to the limelight by showing him off at the Grammys.
This has to be the most suspect and calculating publicity move ever.
*major side eye Madge*.
Dear black artists,
We regret to inform you that the need for your services will soon come to an end as we enter a critical restructuring period. Fortunately, after having spent nearly a century meticulously studying your art, language, fashion, and lifestyle, we have learned enough to confidently move forward without your assistance. We thank you for your contributions but have decided to make some necessary changes as a result of your decreasing value. Focus groups show that consumers are looking for more relatable images. While 2013 marked the first time in Billboard’s 55 year history that there were no black artists on the Hot 100 chart, this was a great year for us with Justin Timberlake, Robin Thicke, and Macklemore claiming the #1 spot on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart, proving that market demands are shifting. Consequently, in the next few months, we will be gradually phasing out your positions as we finalize this reorganization. In the meantime, we ask you to continue with business as usual, training your replacements Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber until instructed otherwise.
Satire which touches on many TRUTHS!
Your thoughts please….
Madonna has issued an apology via Instagram apologising for posting a photograph of her son Rocco along with the caption, ‘No one messes with Dirty Soap! Mama said knock you out! #Disnigga.
“I am sorry if I offended anyone with my use of the N-word on Instagram. It was not meant as a racial slur…I am not a racist.”
“There’s no way to defend the use of the word. It was all about intention…It was used as a term of endearment toward my son who is white.
I appreciate that it’s a provocative word and I apologize if it gave people the wrong impression. Forgive me.”
“It was used as a term of endearment”.
Oh Madonna you know better then this! Just sit down, stop trying to be “cool” and start acting your age.
Madonna shocked fans last night (Friday 17th) after posting a photograph of her son Rocco Richie on Instagram with the caption:
No one messes with Dirty Soap! Mama said knock you out! #Disnigga
After the singer was criticised for her inappropriate caption she quickly deleted it but followed up with:
“Ok let me start this again. #get off my dick haters!”
However one supporter wrote that she ‘deserves a pass for using the N-word because she ‘has basically adopted half of Africa’.
In 5…4…3…2…1… the Hip Hop A-list fraternity who love to throw around the word ‘nigger’ and other equally foolish black folk from that world will rush to Madonna’s defence.
I believe we not only disrespect each other with the constant use of "nigga" loosely, we disrespect our ancestors, their struggles & dreams.—

I wonder if she calls the African children that she fought tooth and nail for ‘niggers’ behind closed doors.
Madonna you are 55 years of age and old enough to know better than to start banding that vile word around. Stop this nonsense, stop trying to be ‘down’ with the kids, start acting your age and THINK!!!
