UK MUSIC: MNEK – WHOLE AGAIN (ATOMIC KITTEN REFIX)
18 year old South East Londoner and singer/songwriter/producer MNEK (pronounced em-en-ee-kay) has written and produced for; The Saturday’s, Rudimental, Mischa B, Little Mix and The Wanted.
Check out what he has done with Atomic Kitten’s 2001 hit single Whole Again (original) and one of my favourite song’s Des’ree’s 1994 classic You Gotta Be (original).
I love what he has done here.

INTERESTING TRACK OF THE DAY: ‘ACCIDENTAL RACIST’ ( BRAD PAISLEY FT LL COOL J)
Check out country singer Brad Paisley’s rather bizarre duet with Hip Hop pioneer LL Cool J.
Brad tackles the subject matter of racism in the deep south ( where he is from) and defends his right to wear a T-Shirt with the Confederate flag on it, and LL then jumps in and raps about gold chains and doo-rags.
Hahahahahahahaha.
[Thanks Marissa]
What possessed them to record this single together and then release it in to the public domain?

UK EVENT: BLOGGERS D’LIGHT LIVE – ANTI VALENTINES SPECIAL (BATTLE OF THE SEXES)
Anti-Valentines Special, Battle of The Sexes!!
Yes, it’s that time of year where the world will be forced to buy into the commercialisation that we all know as Valentines Day.
Yet another holiday where we all temporarily lose our minds, and spend our hand earned cash on trinkets that do nothing for us, but boost the pockets of retailers up and down the country!
Because of this, we at Bloggers D’Light LIVE will be discussing and getting to the heart of the matter on Love, Relationships, Sex and how men and women truly feel about February 14th.
Special guests on the evening Choice FM host Jade Avia, boxing promoter/media personality Spencer Fearon, actress Letitia Hector and more….

UK MUSIC: PAIGEY CAKEY & LADY LESHURR – CLIQUE
…
They both look and sound like they are still in school (especially Paigey Cakey) and for some reason remind me of some of my classmates who used to just start rapping at the back of the bus and would pretend they were Salt ‘N’Pepa.
Anyway young girls will probably like this.
Female rap duo Ice Cream and Mafiella better watch out!

UPROAR OVER RICK ROSS’ NEW VIDEO HOLD ME BACK (NIGERIA)
While rapper Rick Ross sits in his Miami mansion sipping on green tea and chomping down on a large fat juicy steak (well done) for breakfast there is uproar brewing across the ocean over the release of his new music video Hold Me Back which was shot in Lagos (Nigeria) earlier this year.
In the video Big Ricky walks through the slums of Lagos wearing his trademark gold chains, hands out dollar bills to poverty stricken children and is surrounded by a group of shirtless men.
During this visual journey the only word that can be heard clearly coming from Rick’s mouth is “niggas, niggas, niggas”.
….
Many have spoken out against the video saying that it depicts Nigeria in a negative light while others argue that the track is about the ghetto so it made sense to film the video in the slums and therefore don’t see what all the fuss is about.

Fellow rapper Wretch 32 has also agreed to jump on the Cheryl Cole tour train.
Several weeks ago The Metro newspaper reported that the convicted batterer of a nightclub toilet attendant is struggling to sell tickets so I’m not surprised to read that Team Cheryl has drafted in UK ”URBAN” music’s Batman and Robin as support acts to help save the day.
I hope she’s worth it lads.
