BRITISH ACTRESS LENORA CRICHLOW SET TO STAR IN NEW US PILOT SHOW

Lenora

Shadow and Act reports that British actress Lenora Crichlow has been cast in a new US pilot show which will air on ABC.

The star of BBC Three’s critically-acclaimed supernatural drama series Being Human  currently in its final season) has booked a role in the untitled Cullen Brothers comedy which centers on “Terry Gannon (Maggie Lawson), a recently divorced single mother who temporarily moves in with her estranged father (James Caan), a beer-swilling former baseball player.”

Crichlow will play a character named Gigi, described as a mom whose son tries out for Little League with Terry’s son.

For almost 10 years now Lenora has starred in numerous major TV shows on British television (often as the lead). She has basically taken over from Angela Griffin and for casting directors/producers become the new ‘woman of colour’ to go to.

She will do well in America. Congratulations Lenora.

She’s been very lucky in the UK with her film and TV career. Good luck to her. I hope she does well.

She didn’t have to leave to get parts. As stated she has done very well here and the parts are rolling in. They have been for the past 7/8 years.

Yes I am well aware that there are loads of women of colour who act as well as Angela and Lenora. Tell the casting directors and producers that.

@Steve, She was in Fast Girls last year. Stars in Being Human (which I hear is the last series) and 2 weeks ago was starring in a Black Mirrors episode. She doesn’t have to leave to get parts, she’s been doing really well here. She just seems to be broadening her horizons by going to the US. Smart move and not a shame if you ask me. Has worked for many British white and black actors from Hugh Laurie and Damien Lewis to Idris Elba and Naomie Harris.

The U.S is making the best Western T.V at the moment. Damn even some of European t.v is different. I first saw this lady in a Julie Burchill adaptation ( can’t remember the title. It was about lesbianism in Brighton ). Maybe she just wants the good stuff, now. It’s not the quantity now, it may be the quality.
