UK NEWS: METROPOLITAN POLICE SHUT DOWN OFFICIAL MIXTAPE AWARDS CEREMONY
The third annual Official Mixtape Awards has been shut down by the Metropolitan Police.
Organisers of the popular event tweeted,

The Metropolitan Police actually said ‘everyone in each category is a criminal and they shoot people’. Folllowed by they are ‘acting on information they were given’.
Did one of their police dogs bark that ”information” to them?
I don’t know whether to laugh are cry at this mess.
Anyway none of this surprises me. If they get wind of a music related event that is likely to attract a SWARM of young black faces they will move to shut it down at a moments notice.
Typical MET Police shenanigans.

MARY J BLIGE RESPONDS TO BACKLASH OVER BURGER KING COMMERCIAL
Singer Mary J Blige has finally responded to the avalanche of criticism that she has had to endure since her new Burger King commercial dropped online several days ago.
Burger King quickly removed the commercial from YouTube citing “copyright issues” (LOL).
In a statement the star claims that what we saw wasn’t the complete commercial.
“I understand my fans being upset by what they saw, but if you’re a Mary fan, you have to know I would never allow an unfinished spot like the one you saw go out. I agreed to be a part of a fun and creative campaign that was supposed to feature a dream sequence. Unfortunately, that’s not what was happening in that clip.”
Fast food giant Burger King later issued the following statement,
“We would like to apologize to Mary J. and all of her fans for airing an ad that was not final. We know how important Mary J. is to her fans, and we are currently in the process of finalizing the commercial. We hope to have the final ad on the air soon.”
What a mess!
I think the majority believe that appearing in a commercial like this is beneath Mary. And it’s also just a bad commercial.
*sings* “Crispy chicken, fresh lettuce, three cheeses, ranch dressing wrapped up in a tasty, flour tortilla,”
That song just keeps going around in my head now.
