Joey Barton

On Friday controversial QPR star Joey Barton tweeted his views on the ongoing John Terry and Anton Ferdinand racism saga(John Terry was stripped of his England captaincy on Friday while he is still being investigated for allegedly calling Joey’s QPR team-mate Anton Ferdinand a ‘f**king black c**t’ during a match in October. Former footballer turned pundit Stan Collymore joined in the Twitter conversation with Joey along with journalists from the Daily Mirror and TalkSport (John Terry supporters).

Barton has served time for assault and is still seen in some quarters as being a nasty piece of work, but he did speak some truth on Friday. However I don’t agree with his view that John Terry ‘isn’t racist he just said something really stupid’. This isn’t the first time John has been accused of spewing out a barrage of racist slurs on the pitch.  From I’ve heard it’s well-known within the world of football that the man has issues with black folk.

Anyway as expected Barton is now in hot water over his comments.

Premier League footballer Joey Barton is being investigated by the Attorney General over tweets about the John Terry racism case.

The Queens Park Rangers captain gave a robust view of the incident that led to Terry being accused of using racist language against Barton’s team-mate Anton Ferdinand last October.

On Friday, the Football Association stripped Terry – who vehemently denies the charge – of the England captain’s armband because his trial will not take place until after this summer’s European Championship finals.

Barton used Twitter to claim that while he does not believe Chelsea captain Terry is a racist, he should have admitted his error and taken any punishment on the chin long ago.

Attorney General Dominic Grieve has the power to bring a criminal prosecution for contempt of court against Barton if he considers the comments would prejudice a fair trial.

If found guilty, an offender faces a maximum of two years in prison.

The tweets were brought to Mr Grieve’s attention by a BBC journalist last night.

If Joey is being investigated and is actually charged with contempt of court then will the MILLIONS who have also voiced their opinions about John Terry on Twitter, Facebook, blogs and on website forums since October face the same punishment too?  If so then it’s going to be a busy year for the Attorney General.

Also is this what BBC journalists are being paid to do now? Sit on Twitter all day reading high-profile figures timelines and then snitch to the authorities when something “controversial” is tweeted? Name and shame that BBC snitch (Hahhahahahaha).

In response to the backlash Barton tweeted the following today,

Your thoughts please….

Barton is being investigated for having an opinion in twitter…. I don’t know, does him speaking out on the gay footballers documentary have anything to do with this?

I hate Joey Barton always have and always will, but I’ll you something the moment they start banning freedom of speech so people are allowed to have a rant, will be the starting point of even more problems in the world and especially the UK because when people can’t have a rant they hold in their anger until it explodes which can be very dangerous.

Joey Barton is one of the most racist thugs in the British game..nevertheless what he’s said does hold some water. He has blatantly hired a PR person to turn around his bad image of late though. He was on a BBC3 documentary last week presented by John Fashanu’s daughter about being gay in football. The reason they spoke to him because he has a gay uncle?! Not sure how that validated him to discuss footballers ‘coming out’ but hey anything to make him ‘look better’

If he survives these charges or going to prison, the media might be the one to tear him down.

But he is not saying anything new that people haven’t been saying. This will go under the carpet. I doubt anyone/the powers that be want to kick start a storm around this issue, when they have tried by all means to keep it calm for football’s/England’s sake. How they were so quick to charge Suarez the foreigner and save their own. smh They were so quick to charge that man who did the monkey antics, but when it comes to John Terry, it becomes so complicated, because he denies being racist, he has played with so many black players(like he had a choice) and has had no problems with them. We all have at one point in time worked with racists and it didn’t mean we or they couldn’t work with them or us. smh

People think it is their God given right to be racist without any consequences.

I’m sure John Terry must love getting an advice from a man jailed for knocking a young kids teeth out in front of CCTV cameras.
If they don’t jail him, them ploease at least take his Twitter privleges away from him and stop his blatant attention seeking.
