After N-Dubz’s Producer and Tulisa’s boyfriend Fazer was chosen by Simon Cowell to produce the X-Factor finalists winning song, it raised some questions:
- Are Hook Ups/Bring Ins Credible or Cringeworthy?
These days (especially in the world of crummy media) it’s not WHAT you know but WHO you know.
Your thoughts please….
I knew this would go in Levi’s favour. I bet he is celebrating at home now with a plate of jerk chicken dripping in Reggae Reggae Sauce.
Via BBC News
A Brixton cafe owner has lost his High Court fight to be recognised as the creator of the recipe for a sauce made famous by a Dragons’ Den contestant.
Anthony Bailey claimed Levi Roots, the singer who made Reggae Reggae Jerk/BBQ Sauce a success, had derived the sauce from his “unique and secret recipe”.
However, Judge Mark Pelling QC dismissed Mr Bailey’s claims for breach of contract and breach of confidence.
The judge questioned whether the recipe was “ever secret”. Continue Reading…
Lawyers said they estimated the legal battle had cost more than £1m in total and the judge said Mr Roots was entitled to have his costs paid.
*Looks over at Tony Bailey*
Last week industry folk and celebrities gathered at City Hall for The Community Channel’s LONDON 360 event.
Can you believe that Mad News didn’t receive an invitation to this event? The whole of London received an invitation apart from me. Even the man who sells The Big Issue outside the Tesco’s near where I work received an invitation. It’s a travesty!
I guess I have been well and truly blacklisted.
Anyway LONDON 360 is a regular TV and online magazine news show all about London and its communities, made by young Londoners 18-25 years old.
I have watched some of the news shows and they have been pretty impressive, very informative and well put together.

What is with the dark shades Bashy? Was the sun also in attendance?
NEW FLORENCE AND THE MACHINE VIDEO IGNITES RACE ROW /ONLINE PETITION SET UP CALLING FOR THE BAND TO APOLOGISE
Check the latest video from Florence and Machine ‘No Light , No Light, which is interesting. The video has apparently ignited a race row because of its imagery.
Florence is in a church along with a group of choir boys and I am guessing they represent all that is good and innocent in the world. Then up pops a man ( it looks like he has been rolled in tar), who practices Voodoo, chases after a terrified Florence, sticks pins in to a doll and dances/rolls around the floor of the church possessed. He represents Evil.
[Thanks Marvin Sparks]
In response to Florence’s fans who have jumped up to defend the star, website Racialicous had this to say,
All sorts of defenses and excuses are being pulled out of the hat to try and label this music video as anything other than what it is: racist. Glorifying the white female central character as representing goodness, all while vilifying the evil dark skinned heathen Other. The number of times this has been done in film date back to one of the very first blockbusters, D.W. Griffith’s Birth of a Nation, and continue on until today with this latest incarnation. But in this age of “colour-blindness” and “post-racial” talk, we confront a fairly new beast: vehement denial.

An online petition has also been set up calling for the band to apologise. Click HERE to view.
Your thoughts please. Do you think this video is racist or is it just “art”?
A message from 50 Cent.

This is positive but once he has succeeded in feeding 1 billion people… then what???
It has been confirmed that BBC Radio DJ/ TV presenter/the voice of Rastamouse Reggie Yates, will co-host The Voice UK alongside Holly Willoughby.
In a statement Yates said,
“I’m so delighted to get this job and be part of such a credible music show. The format of The Voice in America has worked brilliantly and I have no doubt it will be just as successful on British TV.”
Well… old Reg has come a long way. I remember when he used to present a CBBC show sporting cane-rows and “street wear”. Now look at him.

Flavour Magazine reports that the actor formally known as Chucky Venice (now Chucky Venn) will join the Eastenders cast this Christmas.
Venn will play the Ray the father of Bianca Butcher’s youngest/only mixed race child Morgan.
I was wondering when they would introduce Morgan’s father.
Anyway this will be interesting. Congratulations Chucky.
