PR FAIL OF THE DAY: SOLDIER ‘PANICS ABOUT MISSING CHERYL COLE’S PHONE CALL’

September 23, 2011 2 comments

Via Digital Spy

The soldier whose number was taken by Cheryl Cole has reportedly been identified as Royal Marine Andy ‘Bagsy’ Baker.

The Girls Aloud star visited Afghanistan as part of a moral-boosting trip for The Pride of Britain Awards. Speaking after her visit, Cole revealed that she had returned “with a phone number from one lad”.

“I think I am going to call him this week and we’ll see what happens,” Cole said earlier this week. “I’m sure he’s not expecting me to ring but that’s why it’ll be funny – and that’s why I’m going to do it.”

Baker was introduced to Cole at an awards presentation, and again at an informal dinner,  according to The Mirror. They also posed for various pictures together.

Baker’s brother-in-law Graham Peck said that the 25-year-old had been “raving about Cheryl”, and made one of his photos with her his Facebook profile picture.

“Andy would love to take Cheryl out for dinner when he’s back in the UK. He thought she was absolutely lovely, and really gorgeous – I think all the guys did,” Peck told the paper. “They met up a couple of times during her trip and hit it off.” Continue Reading….

This has given me my first big belly laugh of the day. Cheryl Cole’s PR team are a bunch of clowns. How many more ridiculous articles are they going to write about “Saint” Cheryl (the convicted batterer of Sophie Amogbokpa) and then send over to the press for them to publish?

Since old Chezza got the chop from X-Factor USA and has been out of work her team have been feeding at least thirty stories a day to the press. Stories suggesting that she is more talented than X-Factor judge/replacement Nicole Scherzinger (don’t make me laugh), that US critics loved her brief stint as a judge on the show (erm.. only three remarked on her performance) and now they are dragging serving members of the armed forces in to this mess, with hopes of restoring their client’s waning popularity.

*shaking my head*

The desperation is just comical.

And singer/Strictly Come Dancing judge Alesha Dixon (whom of which I really like) seriously needs to stop hero worshipping Cheryl.

Oh please….

UK NEWS: RAPPER CHIPMUNK AND AUTHOR TERRY DEARY LAUNCH NEW MOBILE LITERACY CAMPAIGN

September 22, 2011 Leave a comment

Author Terry Deary and Chipmunk

Rapper Chipmunk and Horrible Histories author, Terry Deary have launched a new novel written entirely on a Nokia E6 mobile phone to help encourage young people to get reading as recent figures show that one in three children do not own a book.

Entitled the “The Perfect Poison Pills Plot”, the story was penned by one of Britain’s best-selling authors of the 21st century, Terry Deary and brilliantly narrated by Chipmunk in a special video available to view on bit.ly/NokiaShortStories

Recent figures from National Literacy Trust have shown the popularity of text messages compared to more traditional formats, and the story was launched to help encourage young people, who happily spend countless hours texting, to get back to reading in a fun way.

The Nokia short story is a black comedy aimed at young adults and was inspired by the popular Japanese ‘keitai’ or cell phone short stories, which are written on mobile phones and each chapter is only 70-100 words long. They can be sent direct to a mobile phone through text messages.

Terry Deary said: “Writing a novel directly onto a phone was an interesting way to work – it’s certainly not my usual method! But I found myself enjoying it; using stolen moments on the train or bus to add to the story of “The Perfect Poison Pills Plot”. It demonstrates just how easy it can be to have a creative outlet wherever you are, particularly for today’s young adults, who are so inherently familiar with technology.”

Chipmunk added: “I’m used to writing my own lyrics but it was great to be in
front of the camera, speaking to kids who may not necessarily reach for a
physical book to kick back to. Terry’s an inspiring man to work with and I hope together we can encourage more young people to read through “The Perfect Poison Pills Plot”.”

New Friday Hip Hop Report Presenters Vicky N.Hope and Jade Avia were invited to the Magic Streetwear warehouse for a free-for-all shopping spree, to choose outfits for the New UK Show.

…….

It looks like Magic Streetwear brought out their left over early-mid noughties stock for the day. The outfits made available to the girls look dated. Erm… did I really just see a velour tracksuit???

Anyway congratulations Vicky and Jade and good luck.

UK NEWS: BLACK BRITISH FOOTBALLERS JOIN ‘SHOW RACISM THE RED CARD’ TO LOBBY FOR FUNDING

September 22, 2011 2 comments

Sol Campbell, Paul Canoville and Shaka Hislop

The Voice Newspaper reports that a group of Black British footballers joined the Show Racism The Red Card initiative at the Houses of Parliament recently to lobby MPs, after funding for the anti-fascist organisation recently came to an end.

The group included Chelsea’s first black player Paul Canoville, former goalkeeper Shaka Hislop, and Sol Campbell.

Check out former England player and man of mystery Sol’s interview with The Voice where he discusses racism in football.  Click HERE to read.

……

I wish them the best of luck with this. However I bet that the majority in the group fighting to get continued funding for this organisation are former players. No current premiership Black British player (apart from Sol who is close to retiring and probably feels he now has nothing to lose) will want to get involved with this campaign because most are a bunch of delusional cowards, who are just interested in running around with WAG-type chicks on their arm and who stand for nothing. They also won’t want to rock the boat for themselves or do anything that will jeopardise their standing in the game, their popularity and those lucrative sponsorship deals.

It’s a shame really because if they are seen to be publicly supporting this cause then it could make a huge difference.

UK NEWS: KERRY KATONA REALITY SERIES AXED BY ITV 2

September 21, 2011 3 comments

Digital Spy reports that Kerry Katona’s reality series The Next Chapter has been axed by ITV 2, due to a ‘undisclosed contractual dispute’.

Kerry’s spokesmen, publicist and joker Max Clifford said,

“It is a shame as Kerry wants to be on TV, and after her success on Big Brother people obviously want to see her. But with the ITV deal she was caught up in something that was beyond her control.”

For a start I don’t understand why ITV executives were even in talks to produce another reality show featuring Kerry. I think viewers are tired of seeing her slurring her way through situations, going to Z-list parties desperate to hit the ‘big time’ again, and her dead beat greedy mother who is always begging a financially strapped Kerry for money.

And as for her ‘success in Celebrity Big Brother’, erm… she didn’t win Max.

At this point Kerry should stop chasing fame and get down to her local the Job Centre.

UK MUSIC NEWS: JADE EWEN LEAVES THE SUGABABES? (UPDATE)

September 21, 2011 10 comments

Sugababes - Heidi, Jade and Amelle

The saga continues….

It has been reported via the Twitter streets that the newest addition to the Sugababes Jade Ewen has left the troubled group.

The Sugababes first hit the music scene back in 1998 with founding members Mutya Buena, Siobhan Donaghy and Keisha Buchanan.  Siobhan Donaghy left the group soon after and was replaced by Heidi Range. Then Mutya Buena waved the girls bye-bye and was replaced by Amelle Berrabah.  The last remaining original group member Keisha Buchanan was fired in 2009 and replaced by former Eurovision contestant Jade Ewen.

If Jade has in fact gone  (Note – it hasn’t been confirmed yet) then I can’t say I’m surprised. It was a wrap for the group the moment Keisha left.

Anyway I wonder who will be her replacement. I’m hearing whispers that rapper/singer/video model Noni Zondi is next in line to join the Babes…….

Noni Zondi

Click HERE to watch Noni’s new video for her new single Come Get It.
………..
UPDATE: Jade Ewen has denied that she has left the group and claims they are all back in the studio working on a new album.

They need to admit to themselves that the Sugababes are over. YOU ARE FLOGGING A DEAD HORSE!!!
