This Saturday (18th June) the ACLT (African Caribbean Leukemia Trust) will be holding their first donation recruitment drive for the year at the Choice FM head offices in Leicester Square. This is a particularly important drive as they are actively working to find life saving matched donors for a number of sufferers.
There are two sufferers who are in need of an urgent transplant to survive. These people are:
Kye Carpenter-Mark
3 year old Kye Carpenter-Mark was diagnosed with an adult form of leukaemia (AML, Acute Myeloid Leukaemia) in 2010. He has suffered a relapse of the cancer and MUST receive a bone marrow transplant from an un-related donor to save his life.
Denise Gayle
53 year old Denise Gayle, diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma last year and has suffered 2 relapses of the disease. Once again Denise needs a life saving bone marrow transplant or she will not beat the disease.
In both cases Kye and Denise are of mixed race heritage (Caribbean and White British) there are no matches on the world registers and so it is vital that the community at large responds in great numbers to save their lives.
To register as a potential bone marrow donor simply requires you to complete a short application form and to provide a small saliva sample. If you ever go on to match a patient you will donate bone marrow cells (fluid) in a very simple procedure.

And today Rhymes With Snitch reports that a woman approached the “good” Bishop during his sermon this past Sunday and handed him a huge amount of money, but some are highly suspicious of this move, and think it’s a “con designed to loosen up his dwindling congregation’s pockets”.

If you want to fleece people out of their earnings (especially black people) just borrow a Bible, set up a church above a shop or in a flat on some council estate and they will come. Prey on the vulnerable, weak and naive and within a year watch the millions roll in.
Digital Spy reports that singer Alexandra Burke has left Simon Cowell’s Syco record label and signed a new deal with RCA Records.
Burke was previously confirmed to be releasing her second studio album through a joint deal between Syco and RCA, but it is now thought that she will be solely an RCA artist.
Numerous online sources claim that the departure was a mutual decision by both parties and Burke will now be signed to the same record company which currently looks after acts including Beyoncé and Alicia Keys.
Seeming to confirm the move on Twitter, the singer’s brother David Burke said: “Really happy Alexandra has officially moved RCA records for new album era. Fingers crossed for progression and improved efficiency (sic.)
“I’d like to thank SyCo for the part they played until this point, but pastures new was required for potential progression going forward.”
RCA and Syco are both under the Sony Music umbrella hmmm…. well if this news is true then I just hope and pray her music improves.

ACLT (African Caribbean Leukemia Trust) founder Beverley De Gale has been awarded an OBE, after launching a campaign in 1996 and working tirelessly since then to recruit bone marrow donors after her son Daniel De Gale developed leukaemia.
Beverley De-Gale, 51, decided to take action in 1996 when she learnt that that her son, Daniel, faced odds of one in 250,000 of finding a donor match as a member of an ethnic minority.
At the time only 550 people on the 285,000-strong UK bone marrow donor register came from an African or Caribbean background making it almost impossible for black people suffering the disease of to find a suitable match. The picture was the same across the world.
With her partner, Orin Lewis, she founded the African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust which works to change attitudes, sign up new donors and match would-be donors around the world with sufferers in dire need.
The charity has signed up 35,000 bone marrow donors from the black and mixed race communities and has saved at least 31 lives in the last 14 years. Continue Reading….
I thought this was a joke at first but it’s true. Former Death Row Records founder/CEO Suge Knight will front PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) latest campaign. In the campaign Suge speaks out against chaining dogs.
Suge says,
“Dogs deserve our love and attention not a life of ‘solitary confinement’ at the end of a chain. Dogs depend on us to take care of them, to keep them safe and healthy. Chaining a dog is one of the cruelest things you can to do them – they are social animals.”
First rapper Waka Flocka and now Suge Knight. PETA obviously wants to infiltrate the “Urban” demographic with their campaigns and Suge Knight is desperate to show that he’s cleaned up his image for some cash.

UPDATE: In response to the post above a representative from PETA has reached out to Mad News and says,
It is implied that Suge Knight is being paid for joining PETA in speaking out against cruelty to animals. This is simply not true. Celebrities, including Suge Knight, who appear in public service announcements (PSA) for PETA do so on a voluntary basis out of the goodness of their hearts, never for any form of monetary payment.
Retail giant Matalan has a lot of explaining to do. I cannot believe that they hired this ‘foot model’ to advertise their sandals and didn’t even bother to air brush out the corns/bunions on her feet.
