Smiley Culture died during a police raid inside his Surrey home.

A meeting between top Metropolitan police officers and members of the public descended into chaos and tears, as family and friends of the dead pop star Smiley Culture accused senior police chiefs of being “murderers”.

A former senior adviser to the former London mayor Ken Livingstone also warned that the black community in Brixton was at “boiling point” after the 48-year-old pop star’s “bizarre” death in police custody two weeks ago.

The musician, who had success in the 1980s with the singles Police Officer and Cockney Translation, died after officers came to search his house. According to a pathologist’s report, Culture, whose real name was David Emmanuel, died from a single stab wound to the heart.

At the time of his death, reports suggested that Emmanuel had stabbed himself while going to make a cup of tea in the kitchen of his Surrey home.

The regularly scheduled meeting of the Metropolitan police authority, at city hall, became passionate and raucous after Tim Godwin, acting commissioner for the Met, tried to move proceedings on from Emmanuel’s death.

Emmanuel’s close friend, Asher Senator, cried “murderers” and “you’re killing us”. He was pulled away from the gallery by associates after becoming distraught. The meeting was adjourned as other members of the crowd began chanting “no justice, no peace” and more than a dozen people walked out in protest.

It’s been a pretty good year so far for the UK’s number 1 youth online media channel SB.TV. Founder Jamal Edwards (21)  has already appeared in numerous mainstream publications, including The Guardian and The Observer, and earlier this year it was announced that he had signed a label deal with Sony RCA.

Now judging from a tweet he posted earlier today (above) it sounds like the young entrepreneur has entered in to some sort of a business relationship with popular restaurant chain Nandos .

I wonder what Nando’s and SB.TV are up to. This is strange. But then again Nandos aka  Peri-Peri Chicken central has become the “Team UK” restaurant of choice for the past two/three years, and SB.TV has become the “UK’s most popular broadcaster” amongst “Urban” youth, so this will probably turn out to be a business relationship made in heaven.

Those of you who tuned in to the Channel 4 documentary series The Family will no doubt remember self-employed web designer Ayo Adesina aka MC Dark-E who dreamed of Hip Hop stardom, and sat in his bedroom making beats and writing rhymes.

Well Mr “I’m young and I’m black surrounded by crack” is still pursuing his dream of Hip Hop superstardom, and his debut single Miss Education will be released on the 16 May.

The track could be worse.

TV psychic Sally Morgan claims that reality TV star Jade Goody who died in March 2009 after a battle with cervical cancer, has ‘contacted’ her.

Morgan claims in The Mirror that she was contracted by Goody’s ex-partner Jeff Brazier a year after her death.

“As soon as he sat down and I opened myself up to spirit, there was Jade, loud and clear, radiating a deep love for her sons. The first thing I felt was her ­concern for her boys,” Morgan said.

“‘I sense headaches around you,’ I told Jeff, and I felt a sharp stabbing pain in the middle of my forehead. Jeff confirmed that their eldest boy, Bobby, got headaches when he was upset.”

She continued: “Then Jade turned her attention to Freddy. Someone here is telling me about Freddy’s hearing. ‘His hearing needs checking,’ I said. Jade was giving Jeff a checklist from the afterlife.

“Jeff confirmed that, after his mother’s death, Freddy had a few problems at school and one ­possibility was his hearing. He’s fine now but it was a concern at the time.”

All I can do is shake my head.

Sally Morgan has got to be the biggest FRAUD out there. I’ve tuned in (by mistake) to some of her shows on Living TV where she pretends to contact the dead relatives of audience members and she is just embarrassing to watch. I refuse to take this woman seriously.

Reggae star Smiley Culture plunged a carving knife into his chest during a police drug raid on his home, a police detective has said.

Detective Constable Stuart Hobkirk told a judge the musician – real name David Emanuel – stabbed himself in front of officers at his Warlingham home on March 15.

The revelation came at Croydon Crown Court on Tuesday, where Mr Emanuel, who grew up in Tulse Hill, was due to stand trial for conspiracy to supply cocaine.

DC Hobkirk confirmed the warrant for the raid related to information regarding smuggling of drugs.

He told the court the raid involved the same team of officers who helped bring the first drug charges against Mr Emanuel.

When the prosecutor asked DC Hobkirk whether Mr Emanuel “took a carving knife and plunged it into his chest”, he replied “yes”. Continue Reading…..

Police officers raided a man’s house, but allowed him to go in to the kicthen to make himself a cup of tea which is unheard of, and according to them he then plunged a carving knife in to his chest.

Police are searching for several youths after a five-year-old girl was shot and injured in a south London shop.

The girl was hit in the chest, and a 35-year-old man also found at the Stockwell Food & Wine shop in Lambeth, was shot in the face.

The two victims are in a critical but stable condition in hospital.The five-year-old was visiting relatives who owned the shop and the man lived above the premises.

Police said two black youths were believed to have run into the shop shortly before the shots were fired.

“The youths had been chased from Broom Grove Road, across Stockwell Road, and into the shop by three other black youths on bicycles,” a statement said.

“Once the youths on bikes were outside the shop, one of them fired shots into the shop front.” Continue Reading….

BBC News reports that 1990s Hip Hop star Vanilla Ice (real name Robert Van Winkle) has signed up to appear in panto.  The star will play Captain Hook in a production of Peter Pan at the Central Theatre in Chatham, Kent.

Theatre general manager Tony Hill said,

Ice is a huge name who I am sure will be a real draw for parents and children alike.He has never performed in a pantomime before, but I am sure that he will go down as a hit.”
