Singer Dane Bowers has been arrested by cops investigating the sale of illegal party drug mephedrone.

The former Another Level star was taken into custody and quizzed by officers on Tuesday as part of a probe into a drugs bust worth £650,000.

According to The Sun, police in Manchester have been involved in a five-month operation to bring down a group of dealers selling the drug at cage-fighting events, which Bowers allegedly promotes.

He was bailed until January.

Five other men and a woman have also been arrested.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police states officers have arrested “seven people on suspicion of conspiring to supply drugs.”

Oh dear times must be really hard for old Dane. 10 years ago he was dancing on stage with Victoria Beckham miming the words to Out Of Your Mind, he basked in the limelight and was also dating glamour model Katie Price aka Jordan.  Now look where he is in 2010.

Sad.

Rapper Rick Ross kicked off his B.M.F Tour last night at the Hammersmith Apollo in London, and judging by the footage below the audience was loving the big man.

I hate to admit this but I love B.M.F. I wish I had been there when Ricky and the audience performed the track together last night.

VIDEO: NICKI MINAJ PERFORMS ON THE WENDY WILLIAMS SHOW

November 18, 2010 5 comments

The “greatest female rapper alive” (that’s what they want us to believe right?) appeared on The Wendy Williams Show yesterday and performed her new single Right Thru Me.

What a load of rubbish! And look at Wendy sitting in the audience pretending to know the words.

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha! Embarrassing.

I’ve said this before and I will say it again, Nicki is probably a really nice woman but her music is appalling!

All the artists and industry folk who constantly harp on about how good she is are lying to themselves, to Nicki and to the public.

This comment posted by Bee Gee over at Rhymes With Snitch  also sums up my feelings on Nicki and her music.

Real hip hop doesn’t exist on the mainstream anymore. As an overall product, Hip Hop is a f**kin joke and has been rendered near-useless by an industry of people that have no idea how to make good music. It’s tainted because the mainstream Hip Hop audience is also a f**kin joke, and will accept anything these major labels push as Hip Hop.

For the buzz this “pink muddaf**ka” gets, the s**t she puts out is embarrassing. The only thing more embarrassing and sad about it, is the people that listen to it and swear she has talent and is a dope mc. But you can apply this same analysis to a whole lotta other artists. No rap skills whatsoever, but it doesn’t matter because they’re more concerned with pushing an image to a mainstream audience that have no idea what good rap music is from the gate. In any musical genre, the new retains a connection to the old. With Hip Hop, it seems that said connection has almost been completely severed.

Quote of the day!

*For those who are interested Nicki’s debut album Pink Friday “leaked” on the Internet yesterday.*

UK MUSIC: LETHAL B – ‘POW 2011′

November 17, 2010 11 comments

Lethal B’s new track Pow 2011 premiered on Tim Westwood’s show this evening. The “revamp” of the 2004 hit this time features Wiley, Kano, Ghettz, JME and Chipmunk.

In my opinion Pow 2004 was a lot better. Lethal should have left it alone. The 2011 version is just unnecessary.

Your thoughts please. Hit or Miss?
