A young mother died when her robes caught fire as she brushed over a candle laid on the floor during a church procession.

Oluwabukola Adeyemo, 27, was engulfed in flames in front of horrified worshippers who ran to her side in a desperate bid to put out the fire.

But they were unable to save the fashion student and keen churchgoer who later died of her injuries in hospital. Continue Reading…..

This is just tragic.

Rest In Peace Oluwabukola Adeyemo.

UK MUSIC NEWS: GRIMINAL SIGNS TO UNIVERSAL MUSIC

September 24, 2010 Leave a comment

UK rapper Griminal announced via Twitter yesterday that he has signed to Universal Music / All Around The World.

Check out the photograph he posted of himself signing on the dotted line.

Why artists like to post photographs of themselves signing their lives away is beyond me.

I wonder if he even bothered to read the contract first.

Anyway congratulations Griminal. Now the hard work begins!

BISHOP EDDIE LONG FACES SEXUAL ABUSE ALLEGATIONS

September 23, 2010 10 comments

Millionaire Atlanta-based pastor, Bishop Eddie Long faces sexual abuse allegations and has been accused of engaging in sexual relationships with young men.

Watch the ABC News report below.

Eddie’s attorney appeared on a radio talk show this morning and addressed Eddie’s extra tight ‘muscle’ shirts.

“The photos don’t corroborate these charges. [Bishop Long] is a health advocate, he’s a weight lifter. Uh, he’s a fella, you know, who’s gonna go to work and he’s gonna have on a muscle shirt. And he’s gon’, you know, he may show up in church, uh, you know, in a muscle shirt. And… I know sure enough he can come, he comes down to my office in a muscle shirt. So, uh, you know, uh, there’s nothing really in those photographs that seems to me, uh, in any way that, uh, is uh, corroborative of, uh, of these allegations.”

May I suggest that in future Eddie’s attorney refrain from speaking publicly.

Your thoughts please….

I actually listened to A Prelude To The Future from start to finish. For once I didn’t just listen to each track for less than 5 seconds and then skip on to the next one, and I really enjoyed the music which was a pleasant surprise.

It definitely gets the Mad News seal of approval.

UPDATE: IN TOUCH WEEKLY ‘EXPOSES’ DAVID BECKHAM’S ALLEGED AFFAIR WITH A PROSTITUTE / BECKHAM REPRESENTATIVE ISSUES STATEMENT

September 22, 2010 3 comments

The new issue will hit newsstands this week.

If this story turns out to be a bag of lies then I hope the folk over at In Touch Weekly have deep pockets….

I just received the statement below from David Beckham’s representative.

”The allegations that have been made are completely untrue and totally ridiculous as the magazine was clearly told before publication.  Sadly we live in a world where a magazine can print lies and believe they can get away with it. We are taking legal action against the magazine.”

ISLAND DEF JAM FIRES L.A. REID AND THE DREAM?

September 21, 2010 1 comment

L.A Reid and The Dream

This news hasn’t been officially confirmed yet but it’s been reported that Island Def Jam bigwigs fired label executives L.A Reid and singer/producer The Dream today.

Via Gyant Unplugged

According to my source, Vin Vivendi, a french international media conglomerate, with activities in music, television, film, and telecommunications, is cleaning house, and Dream as well as LA Reid are out due to disappointing sales figures and exuberant spending .

If L.A Reid has in fact “left the building” then I wonder where this leaves UK group N-Dubz? Reid was the one who signed them.

Anyway once this news is confirmed I’m sure those who remember the Def Jam glory days will be dancing in the streets.

PICS OF THE DAY: DAPHNE GUINNESS (ALEXANDER MCQUEEN’S MEMORIAL SERVICE – LONDON)

September 21, 2010 1 comment

Th world of fashion paid their last respects to the designer Alexander McQueen yesterday at St Paul’s Cathedral.

Alexander’s muse heiress Daphne Guinness also attended the late designer’s memorial service wearing black platform boots from his Autumn/Winter 09 collection…

…..and almost fell over.

All I can do is shake my head.  She really should have left those boots at home.

Click HERE to view more pics….

Rest In Peace Alexander McQueen.

UK MUSIC: JMC FT SIZZLA – PLOT

September 21, 2010 1 comment

Rapper JMC teams up with reggae star Sizzla on his new single Plot (scheduled digital release October 25th).

I listened to Plot this morning and I really like the beat.  However I strongly object to them ruining Sizzla’s vocals with the use of auto tune.  That was so unnecessary.

The video -  There is nothing particularly outstanding about this promo, but I see some of it was filmed in my parents homeland so I’ll give it the thumbs up just for that. :D

Your thoughts please. Hit or Miss?
