UK MUSIC: 1UP EMPIRE (ICE CREAM, MAFIELLA, SKRILLZ) – SKY’S THE LIMIT

June 17, 2010 5 comments

Rapper Ice Cream,  her sister Mafiella  and the 1UP Army are back with the new track Sky’s The Limit.

When I first came across these ladies several months ago at over at Brown Eyez , I was left speechless.

The gun talk, the tights, the leotard.. it was all too much.

Ice Cream and Mafiella just sound like they want to war with anyone who crosses their path, especially Mafiella.

But give me them any day over that ridiculousness across the pond Nicki Minaj.

Anyway I really like the production on Sky’s The Limit.

The lyrics – Mafiella and Ice Cream both need prayer.

UK MUSIC: G-FRSH – BLACK BATMAN

June 16, 2010 3 comments

Jay-Z’s influence runs DEEP once again! UK rappers just love to sip that Jay Juice.

Three words -  Run This Town.

In all honesty the production isn’t bad but lyrically he’s just all over the place.

I’ve listened to this track six times and I still don’t know why he’s the Black Batman.

Your thoughts please. Hit or Miss?

CHRISTINA AGUILERA’S COMEBACK ALBUM DEBUT SALES DISAPPOINT

June 16, 2010 11 comments

It’s been reported that Christina Aguilera’s comeback album sales where the lowest of her career to date.

According to the Hits Daily Double website Bionic has only sold 111,838 copies in it’s first week.

Christina also recently cancelled her 20-date summer tour.

…………………………….

Mary J Blige predicted that this would happen!

Several years ago BBC radio personality Trevor Nelson interviewed Mary and she let it be known (on television) that she was not a Christina Aguilera fan.

Mary told Trevor that Britney Spears would come out on top in the long run because she was “sweet” and was always “respectful to others” (including her fans). But Christina was disrespectful, had a “nasty little attitude” and revealed that when she was first introduced to Christina, she held up her hand to Mary’s face, which gave the impression that she wanted Mary to kiss it.

Ha Ha.

Mary then went on to add that the bad attitude towards others within the industry and in general would be her downfall.

Throughout the years there have been many who have commented on Christina’s off- key behaviour.

Anyway back to the album sales!  It’s still early days and the album may go on to become a huge success.

But the problem is it’s like she’s trying to compete with Lady GaGa. But Christina is a TRILLION times better than that joke of an artist, who now looks like she’s on the verge of having a nervous breakdown.

POLICE SHUT DOWN DRAKE CONCERT IN NEW YORK

June 16, 2010 7 comments

Rapper/singer Drake released his highly anticipated debut album Thank Me Later yesterday, and decided to throw a free concert in New York.

However the concert was later cancelled when 25,000 people turned up and proceeded to lose their minds and acted the fool for no good reason.

The crowd became unruly (fights broke out and rioting) which led to safety concerns.

According to WABC in New York, the crowd for the concert, which also had the singing band of brothers Hanson on the bill, swelled to 25,000 people — more than double the amount authorities had planned for.

WABC also added that arrests were made and non-life threatening injuries were reported.

……………………………………………………..

I’m not surprised this happened. There were well known acts on the bill and the concert was FREE!

UK TV: N-DUBZ STAR DAPPY ADMITS TO LYING TO THE POLICE

June 16, 2010 10 comments

Dappy

“Talented” super group N-Dubz will soon feature in their own Channel 4 documentary,  Being N-Dubz, and in the soon to be aired doc “role model” Dabby (real name Dino Contostavlos) reveals that he routinely gives the wrong information to police whenever he is stopped and searched.

“Up to this day we still give the wrong name and address,”

Why would you admit that on television?

He is going to single-handedly destroy that group with his worthless shenanigans and reckless talk.

The man is a BORN IDIOT!

Fazer and Tulisa should start developing solo projects ASAP or look in to gaining some experience as TV presenters, before it all comes crashing down around them  and they have nothing to fall back on.

UK TV: ITV FIRES FORMER FOOTBALLER / PUNDIT OVER WORLD CUP TICKETS

June 15, 2010 7 comments

Former footballer turned pundit Robbie Earle

Via Digital Spy

ITV has fired pundit Robbie Earle over the distribution of his family and friends World Cup tickets.

Following an investigation by the broadcaster, the former footballer – who has worked with ITV1 since 2001 – was found to have passed his ticket allocation to a third party. His actions breached governing body FIFA’s regulations.

In a statement, the channel said: “Immediate investigations indicated that a block of ITV tickets would appear to have been used for unauthorised purposes during the Holland v Denmark match. Continue Reading….

Oh the shame!

Why Robbie Why???

And the man had a decent gig going on over at ITV.

What a waste.

Instead of passing his tickets on to friends/family Robbie allegedly gave his free tickets to these ladies (the third-party) below.

UK NEWS: RAPPER TINCHY STRYDER FLIES OUT TO SOUTH AFRICA TO ‘CHEER UP’ THE ENGLAND WORLD CUP SQUAD

June 15, 2010 8 comments

The Daily Mirror reports that rapper Tinchy Stryder has flown out to South Africa to cheer the England team up after Saturday’s lacklustre performance against the USA.

A “source” disclosed,

Since Saturday’s game, the lads have not been in the greatest of spirits and they all needed something to lift them up. Tinchy met some of the players briefly, which was the perfect tonic.

“He dedicated his song Number 1 to Rob Green which went down a treat. It put a smile back on a few faces.”

There’s only so much time the boys can spend watching DVDs in their rooms after training. So meeting Tinchy was such a welcome surprise and really boosted morale.”

Also according to The Daily Mirror the squad were all hoping that Dizzie Rascal would pay them a visit, but he apparently cancelled at the last-minute.

What a shame….

……………………………………………………….

If this story is true then all I can do is laugh.

Oh the poor over-paid/pampered babies. They were all bored watching DVDs in their plush hotel rooms and down in the dumps. But then Super Stryder flew in, worked his magic and now all is right with the world again.

England will definitely win the World Cup now!!!

*shaking my head*

After Saturday’s dismal performance The England squad should be training/talking tactics and focusing on their next game (Day and night). Not taking precious time out to meet rappers, in the hope of “lifting spirits”.

Isn’t it the manager/captain’s job to lift a team’s spirit?

I would love to see how the other teams (Spain, Brazil, Portugal, Argentina, Germany etc) set about preparing themselves for the biggest tournament of their lives.

I wonder if it involves going on safari, playing golf, watching DVDs and receiving  ’famous’ visitors from their native lands.

I wonder if that’s part of their training regime.

Best of luck England.

“CONTROVERSIAL” VUVUZELA FACES WORLD CUP BAN AFTER PLAYERS, FANS AND BROADCASTERS COMPLAIN OF NOISE

June 14, 2010 21 comments

The vuvuzela

Via The Mail

The controversial vuvuzela horns could be banned from World Cup following thousands of complaints from fans, broadcasters and the players.

South Africa’s World Cup organising chief Danny Jordaan revealed his officials had been swamped by protests about the ear-bursting horns being blown during matches.

Mr Jordaan told BBC Sport the vuvuzela would be banned ‘if there are grounds to do so’. Continue Reading….

When England eventually get knocked out of the tournament I bet they blame it on the vuvuzela, along with the ball.

I suspect that it’s mostly the English players,  fans, viewers and broadcasters who are moaning the loudest.

STANDARD!

Yes the vuvuzela is noisy, but it’s an important part of South Africa’s footballing culture. NO WAY should it be banned.

The South Africans should not be forced into changing the way they choose to celebrate on THEIR OWN SOIL to suit others!

Those who don’t like it can switch of their television sets or turn the volume down.
