French supermodel Noemie Lenoir was recovering in hospital tonight after being found unconscious beside a pile of pills and an empty spirits bottle after apparently trying to commit suicide.

The 30-year-old, who has become a household name in the UK after spearheading an advertising campaign for Marks & Spencer, was found lying in a forest in La Celle-Saint-Cloud, on the outskirts of Paris.

She is believed to have started taking a potentially deadly cocktail of alcohol and drugs at the £1million detached home of her ex- boyfriend Claude Makelele, the ex-Chelsea football star who is father to their son, Kelyan, five. Continue Reading….

This is sad.

I hope she gets the help she needs.

VIDEO: DRAKE – FIND YOUR LOVE

May 11, 2010 5 comments

When I first got word that Drake was flying down to Kingston Jamaica to film the video for Find Your Love I said, I bet the over-rated singer/rapper and crew members visit one of Kingston’s notorious Garrisons (Ghettos), and film “sweet boy” Drake surrounded by poverty and zinc housing.

It was obvious to me that they were going to go down this predictable route, and portray Jamaicans as being nothing more than heavy weed smoking, sweaty, gun-toting murderers, who reside in some of the worst areas imaginable.

I wasn’t far off the mark.

The video also features reggae artist Mavado (who I just want to SLAP right now), and parts were shot in the garrison where he grew up.

How sweet!

Anyway the track is mediocre and Drake should stay in his lane. THE END!

A few well known Jamaican artists have commented on the video via Twitter. They are not impressed.

Your thoughts please. Hit or Miss?

UK NEWS: “I HAVE A CHOICE” LAUNCHES REACH FM

May 11, 2010 Leave a comment

Run by 90 volunteers, Reach FM has been created by v, The National Young Volunteers Service and Choice FM’s community project “I Have a Choice” to inspire, inform and involve thousands of 16-25 year olds. The station will broadcast from 8th-28th May and focus on some of the things that are important to young people – fashion, music, family and community.

Over the last few months the vinspired and Catch22 volunteers have been gaining experience in radio production, editing, presenting, marketing and promotions. On Saturday 8th May their months of hard work and preparation culminated with the launch of Reach FM on 87.7 FM.

Alongside this Global Radio’s Choice FM has teamed up with Arsenal and Tottenham football clubs to highlight the huge importance of communities and young people coming together. Over the last few years there has been a rise in knife crime among young people, tragically highlighted by the death of Ben Kinsella in Islington in 2008.  Hence the main theme for the 21-day broadcast is community cohesion; encouraging young people to work together across boroughs.

UK MUSIC NEWS: GIGGS – FROM RAPPER TO CLOTHING DESIGNER

May 11, 2010 23 comments

UK rapper and Peckham resident Giggs is turning in to a right little entrepreneur.

Giggs has now entered into the world of fashion and has ‘created’ his own clothing line SN1 Wear.

Check out the stunning photographs and video footage below…

Via Ragggs.com

The House of Sean John must be quaking in their boots right now.

There’s nothing particularly special about the menswear. It’s okay.

But the womens wear looks dated and tacky. Women were wearing those types of dresses back in the early nineties. We are now in 2010.

Who are they hoping to market those creations to?  Who is their demographic?

I wish Giggs the best of luck with this venture, but feel all those involved need to do their homework first when it comes to the business of fashion and textiles.

Just stamping a logo/slogans on a bunch of shirts and tacky jumper dresses  isn’t going to cut it in the long term.

Also the photographs featured in the video footage promoting the clothing line are terrible. In particular the ones featuring the female models.  From what I can tell not much thought went in to how they would present themselves while modeling the items.

But like I said, I wish Giggs the best of luck with this venture.

UK NEWS: BLOGGER FINED AND FIRED AFTER AIRPORT BOMB POST ON TWITTER

May 11, 2010 5 comments

Paul Chambers

Via The Metro

A blogger who posted a message on Twitter joking about how he would blow an airport ‘sky high’ was found guilty yesterday of sending a menacing electronic communication.

Paul Chambers, 26, said he sent the tweet to 600 ‘followers’ in frustration after Robin Hood airport in South Yorkshire, where he was due to fly from, was shut by snow in January.

But a judge ruled the message was ‘of a menacing nature in the context of the times in which we live’. The tweet, sent in the early hours of January 6, said: ‘C**p! Robin Hood airport is closed.

‘You’ve got a week and a bit to get your s**t together, otherwise I’m blowing the airport sky high!’

An airport manager saw the post a few days later and raised the alarm, Doncaster magistrates heard.

Chambers was arrested at his workplace, a car distribution company near Doncaster, where he was a finance

supervisor. He has now lost his job because of the prosecution.

Chambers was ordered to pay a £385 fine, a £15 victims surcharge and £600 costs. He said he was now considering an appeal.

This is ridiculous. What he posted on Twitter was obviously written out of frustration and at the same time a JOKE!

I cannot believe they dragged him in to court over an off the cuff remark posted on Twitter.

I think a warning would have been enough.

After the hearing, Chambers was quick to tweet his reaction, writing: ‘I’d like to thank the CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) for their level-best efforts in f***ing up the life of an ordinary citizen. I love Britain.’

I hope he decides to appeal the decision because this is foolishness.
