After featuring bikini clad women in his latest video, which also features them dancing in front of the Buddha statue, R&B star Akon has now issued an apology to the Sri Lankan people, and has also had Visa application denied.

Read the statement below.

“I was not aware that the statue was even on the set of the video until now. I would never set out to offend or desecrate anyone’s religion or religious beliefs.

“I myself am a spiritual man, so I can understand why they are offended, but violence is never the answer and I am disheartened to hear about what happened yesterday in Sri Lanka.”

Oh Akon stop lying. Do you really expect us to believe that you had no clue the statue was there until now?

I would have more respect for the man if he just admitted that it never occurred to him that the video might cause offence.

Go away Akon and take your ridiculous new scent Konvict  with you.

Sri Lankans outraged by Akon’s ‘desecration’ of a statue of the Buddah have protested against his upcoming concert in Colombo.

The R&B singer has come under fire from locals who have taken offence to his video for ‘Sexy Chick’, which features groups of near-naked women dancing at a pool party in front a Buddah statue.

Sri Lanka’s Sinhalese ethnic majority are mainly Buddhists.

According to Billboard, around 200 Sri Lankans protested by throwing stones at the head office of the Maharaja Organisation, which is sponsoring the gig. Continue Reading…..

Women from across the land voted Chezza as the most motivating lady of the past 10 years – fending off tough competition from Dame Helen Mirren and Oprah Winfrey who finished second and third respectively. 

The X Factor judge was crowned the winner as 29% of voters put her in poll position because of her beauty whilst 51% said it was for her success.

Murderer Kobina Essel

A 19-year-old man who was found guilty of murdering a Matalan shop manager has been sentenced to life with a minimum 20-year term.

Kobina Essel stabbed Jamie Simpson, 33, during a botched robbery in March 2008.

Mr Simpson was stabbed in the neck with a 10-inch knife during the hold-up at the store in Hackney, east London.

Essel, of Manor Park, east London, was found guilty of the murder by an Old Bailey jury in February. He had denied the charge.

The knifeman, who told the court he was “panicking” as he stabbed Mr Simpson three times, was also given 11 years’ detention for conspiracy to rob. Continue Reading….

Drug addled fool Pete Doherty

Pete Doherty was reportedly arrested last week on suspicion of supplying a controlled drug.

The singer-songwriter was one of four people questioned on Friday in the matter relating to the death of heiress Robin Whitehead, BBC News reports. Doherty was bailed to return in April.

Whitehead, who recently made a film about Doherty’s band The Libertines titled The Road To Albion, died of a suspected drug overdose in January. Continue Reading
