Celebrating the launch of the Nokia Comes With Music 5800 in chrome on T-Mobile, JLS performed live and exclusively yesterday (February 13th) for 3000 invited fans at the Hammersmith Apollo.
Watched by celebrities including Katie Price and Alex Reid, Angus Deaton, Jamelia, Keisha Buchanan, Lemar and Anthony Worrell-Thompson, the triple- BRIT nominated band played a full 90 minute set, including their smash hits ‘Umbrella’ and ‘Everybody in Love’.
The only matinee performance during their current sell-out tour, tickets to the gig were given to those who purchased Nokia Comes With Music 5800 in chrome on T-Mobile, with hundreds of others also won through competitions spanning radio, print and online.

“The district commissioner for Lilongwe told the villagers to move off the land and (make) way for the construction of the academy because it was government land reserved for development projects,” an official from the commissioner’s office told AFP by telephone.
The official, who did not want to be named, said district commissioner Charles Kalemba told the nearly 200 villagers that they were lucky to have been “compensated for the houses, gardens and fruit trees.”
Kalemba, accompanied by officials from the government department of lands and Madonna’s charity Raising Malawi, visited the site on the outskirts of the administrative capital Lilongwe on Wednesday.
The villagers had threatened to block the project unless they got more cash after being paid 500,000 dollars in compensation by Madonna’s charity.

Alexandra Burke has said that she is ‘heartbroken’ after visiting Haiti to see the devastation caused by the country’s recent earthquake disaster.
The X Factor winner flew out to Haiti’s capital Port-au-Prince earlier this week in a bid to raise further awareness of the struggles faced by the country.
During her visit, Burke met ‘miracle boy’ Kiki Joachin, 7, who was rescued from rubble after days trapped underground. She also visited a Save The Children camp, where she played with youngsters and handed out presents.
The 21-year-old told The Sun: “The desperation of so many people has broken my heart. Kiki is the bravest person I’ve ever met.”
She continued: “You see the poverty and destruction in the papers or on the news, but nothing prepares you for this. It’s like being punched in the stomach. I just hope millions buy the ‘Everybody Hurts’ single. This is a whole country on its knees.” Continue Reading….

The Associated Press reports that a Haitian judge has recommended that 10 American missionaries detained in Haiti be released.
E! News says that Mayer stopped playing towards the end of his concert in Nashville last night.
After apologising to his bandmates, he reportedly told the audience: “I quit the media game. I’m out. I’m done. I just want to play my guitar.”
He allegedly paused before returning to his guitar solo and finishing the concert.
The musician caused controversy with his recent Playboy interview, in which he described his former girlfriend Jessica Simpson as “sexual napalm” and compared his penis to a “white supremacist”.
He also used the ‘N word’ and later apologised for his comments on Twitter.

“Using the ‘N word’ in an interview: I am sorry that I used the word. And it’s such a shame that I did because the point I was trying to make was in the exact opposite spirit of the word itself. It was arrogant of me to think I could intellectualize using it, because I realize that there’s no intellectualizing a word that is so emotionally charged. And while I’m using today for looking at myself under harsh light, I think it’s time to stop trying to be so raw in interviews. It started as an attempt to not let the waves of criticism get to me, but it’s gotten out of hand and I’ve created somewhat of a monster. I wanted to be a blues guitar player. And a singer. It’s been reported that in a recent interview with Playboy singer John Mayer likened his penis to white supremacist (Klu Klux Klan member) David Duke.
For some reason the star was asked if black women threw themselves at him.
Mayer then responded,
