Not only did the Guardian interview Giggs, it looks like the journalist actually visited him in Peckham…
Well I’ve seen it all now….
Part one of the documentary ‘The Complexion Obsession’ takes a look at Hip Hop video models, and why the industry tends to favour light skinned women over dark skinned women.
Yes the light skinned / dark skinned debate still rages on in 2010!
On February 8th I posted the news that Akon would be hosting his own weekly Saturday evening show on 95.8 Capital FM.
Well that business relationship didn’t last long because today Social Writers Blog reports that the singer has left Capital after hosting just one show.
A spokesperson from Global Radio said in a statement,
“Due to Akon’s commitments, including working on a brand new album, we won’t be broadcasting a regular show on 95.8 Capital FM for the time being.”
So they didn’t think that this would be an issue before they offered him the role?
WHAT REALLY HAPPENED CAPITAL?????
I still don’t even understand why they decided to give him his own radio show in the first place!
Sad, sad news folks….
The Guardian reports that rapper Giggs’ concert has been cancelled after police warned concert venues of safety concerns.
Giggs, from Peckham, London, and recently signed to XL Recordings, was due to play 10 dates starting tomorrow in Birmingham. However, police confirmed that they warned organisers about security concerns after being contacted by the promoters for Giggs’ London date on 4 March at the O2 Islington Academy. Continue Reading….
Well this news doesn’t surprise me.
Just think about the type of crowd that a Giggs concert is likely to attract….
Unfortunately there are too many young IDIOTS running rampant in London (particularly in the Peckham/New Cross /Lewisham areas), who take great pleasure in acting the fool when out in public. You know who you are!
There are sick adolescents out there who will just turn up to start a war.
The O2 Islington Academy and all the other venues can do without the drama.
Still the cancellation of the tour will no doubt only serve to heighten Gigg’s popularity and will continue to shine a spotlight on “delightful” Peckham.

A police dog handler who let his two devoted German Shepherds bake to death in the back of his car has escaped jail after claiming the stress of the job made him forgetful.
PC Mark Johnson faced up to six months in prison and a £20,000 fine for letting his beloved dogs die in ‘excruciating pain’ during a heat wave after becoming distracted by paperwork for seven hours.
But yesterday he was handed a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £2,500 costs after a judge heard previous investigations into his conduct had turned him into a nervous wreck.
Jet, ten, and 18-month-old Jay-Jay were left in the caged luggage compartment of PC Johnson’s Ford Mondeo estate at Nottingham Police’s headquarters in Arnold with no water and the windows closed. Continue Reading….
This story has received so much news coverage.
Two dogs die in the back of a car and the police dog handler is charged and dragged in to court, where he is forced to explain his actions to a judge, jury and the waiting media.
Hundreds of black men died at the hands of the police up and down the country throughout the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. Where was the media interest then? Where was the outrage? There were no trials and still to this day no one has been held accountable for those deaths.
Yet dead dogs receive more justice and respect!

LIBERAL DEMOCRAT Shirley Brown has appeared in court following allegations that she called an Asian Conservative a ‘coconut’.
Brown, who represents the Ashley ward in Bristol said last week that she will plead not guilty to charges of racially aggravated harassment.
Bristol magistrates have adjourned the case until 12 April.
The accused allegedly called Jay Jethwa a ‘coconut’, which implies someone is black/brown on the outside but white on the inside therefore betraying their race, during a heated debate at the Bristol City Council last February.
She was opposing Jethwa’s suggestions that the council should cut funding to the Legacy Commission, a body which funds black projects.
Despite apologising Brown is still suspended from the council and has had her allowance withheld.
She has also been urged to step down as a member of the council.
Oh dear….Oh dear.. Oh dear….
The days when you could freely call a person a coconut/bounty have long gone Shirley.
This leaves a nasty taste in my mouth….

Tony Blair and George Bush joined Nigeria’s business and political elite at an awards ceremony yesterday and pledged their support to the oil-rich country’s new acting president.

Who the HELL invited those war criminals?
We all know what happens to nations who sit on oil.
Will Nigeria suffer the same fate as Iraq?
What’s really going on here?
Former Miss England Rachel Christie was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving last week.
Christie was with boyfriend TV Gladiator “Tornado” (real name David McIntosh), when they were stopped near Marble Arch in central London.
The heptathlete, niece of former Olympic gold medal sprinter Linford Christie, apparently refused to blow in to the breathalyser when asked repeatedly to do so.
She was taken to a station and charged with failing to provide a specimen for analysis.
Scotland Yard said she was bailed to appear before City of Westminster JPs on February 26.
If convicted, she faces a driving ban, plus a maximum six months’ jail.
First Rachel was hailed for becoming “the first black” Miss England, then she lost the crown after an alleged nightclub brawl over her Z-list personality boyfriend, and now this!
Oh Rachel.. WHY???
