Celebrated reggae star Buju Banton is being detained in a federal Miami prison following his arrest last Thursday (December 10) on drug charges. Banton, real name Mark Anthony Myrie, was booked with another unidentified man after a surveillance camera caught them in the process of a drug transaction. Authorities claim to have found the singer with 5 kilos of cocaine, and charged him with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute. Banton was in the midst of completing a milestone 2009. The veteran deejay had received a Grammy nomination for his ninth studio album Rasta Got Soul, and finished a successful North American tour.

For the first time ever an AFRICAN nation is hosting the biggest sporting event in the world. I guess that in some quarters this was and still is a bitter pill to take.

So what do you do next? Fire up the old lap top and write an article featuring suspect facts and figures, that falsely helps to portray Africans as being AIDS riddled, sex obsessed thieving animals, who are not to be trusted.

I would have loved to have seen female duo Changing Faces. I was a fan but have to admit that those girls could not sing live.

Boy band JLS and singer Alexandra Burke performed on tonights X-Factor final, and I really enjoyed watching this performance.

Well done!

Earlier on today I asked OK! Magazine if they thought that all black men looked alike, because they posted a story on their website about actor/director Noel Clarke, and then posted a photograph of UK rapper Kano to go with the article.

Since then OK! have corrected their mistake and issued an apology to an annoyed Noel…. via TWITTER.

Oh dear… when your back is against the wall blame the picture agency – HA HA HA! 

Noel Clarke is quite high profile, so the biggest joke is that these people work for a top showbiz publication, received the photograph of Kano, and not one staff member looked at it and said ‘hold on a minute that’s not Noel’. 

Am I expected to believe that they had NEVER seen Noel’s face before??? 

Did they not tune in to Doctor Who?

This is just a latest example of the lack of attention/lack of respect high profile black celebrities receive in this fair land of ours.

OK! Magazine has posted the news on their website that actor, producer and director Noel Clarke is going back to school to direct a Christmas Navity play.

However members from the OK! team don’t really seem to know who Noel  is or what he looks like.

If they did then they would not have posted a photograph of UK rapper KANO with this story.
